I'm glad you're excited about this

But I think there are better comics that aren't mere adaptations of literary works waiting to be discovered.

Haven't really even delved into graphic novels/comics,other than Watchmen that I am planning to read,I just find it interesting to see what they have done with Kafka's work.

I found The Trial and Crime and Punishment at the local bookstore.

I was amazed at how The Trial (Graphic Novel) was so precise with the book.
Crime and Punishment I have not read yet.

Yes, I'll second that with Proust's Remembrance of Times Past - Swann's Way, which I have in GN. The narrative description goes over into the artwork, and the dialog goes over into balloon boxes, and the fidelity to the written word is remarkable. Although, the artwork isn't near as vivid or pleasurable as the written prose in the case of Swann's Way.

It suits The Trial in my opinion, because of the darkness of the story and the mind of the author.

Wouldn't surprise me, and easy to imagine that being the case.

I've never tried GN adaptations of literature, but I do like graphic novels to a point. I've seen adaptations of Shakespeare's works, but they didn't impress me at all, the artwork didn't seem to fit very well. Might look up The Trial, though it sounds very interesting in that medium.

I'm very much on the graphic novel bandwagon right now and that one is very tempting even though I have a copy of the book which I was supposed to read for BOTM here but did not.
