Joining there lot, are you Halo? You can pray to the God of your choice then, but an American Indian gives no mercy.

If it keeps us away from those loin cloths, I think everyone on the forum will soon be joining my piratical ranks.

Definitely not, it was just the image of the soiled loincloth that temporarily warped my fragile little mind. I'm feeling better now.

Yay Lone Wolf & Cub!!! I have only seen the first 2 parts, I am waiting for the rest to become available at my local store, otherwise I may have to order them from Animeigo.com.

I love the second one, where the kid has little foot pedals that control knives spinning out of the pushcart's axles. Great stuff.

HORAY FOR YOU!

Somebody has seen it too!!!! ISNT IT GREAT?????? Don't you think the actor that plays the samurai is just the best thing ever? He REALLY is a wonderful actor. he just blows me away. I think it's partly him that makes the movies! When he looks at them after they kill his wife his eyes blaze with such hatred that you want to turn off the movie in case he comes and runs the sword though you! Great great actor!

I have not seen the second one yet but I have it ready to watch I watched the first part and it's great! Can't wait to watch it!

Wide shot of grassland with sound of wind
Shot of our samurai
Shot of a ninja running though grass
long shot of them both
shot of ninja running
shot of samurai standing and drawing his sword
shot of ninja running
shot of samurai waiting
long shot of them both
shot of ninja face
shot of samuari face with eyes squinting with hatred

SUDDENY!

Ninja attacks!
Samurai sword goes though his staw hat and cuts it in half!
Ninja holds onto the blade with palms flat on the blade
shot of the staring at each other
ninja feet on other ninja shoulders
its another ninja!
Second ninja spinning though the air
samurai grabs handle of baby carriage and it turns into a spear!
impales second ninja
ninja falls
then the blood stars!
gushing fountain of bood!
first nina with a sword stuck in his head tells samurai that he will never win
as ninja gives long speach the blood is still gushing in a great fountain of blood!

HOW good is that?????

One of my fav part of the first film ( Blade of Vengence ) is when they get his son to hang over the well. He stands there as the boy drops a sandle into the well... listening... so he knows how deep it is and how much time he has... he says... "Ninja! You will wish you were wiser, now you will see!" With that he leaps foward cutting down 3 ninja and grabbing the rope in time to save his kid! GREAT!

Ashlea
Yeah, have not seen the anime you talk of but it sounds great. I have not read Shogun so I might have to check that one out. Thanks

YEP, pirates are really really really great.

But you know what? Samurai are really great too! I love em! And right now, as of this moment, I am in a samurai obsession! I was in a pirate obsession!!! Samuari are great arnt they? I mean, what's NOT to like! Moody swords man of great and deadly skill. Ancient and exotic Japan! Sword fighting, drinking sake, chopping off of heads, honour till the very LAST breath, tense sword fighting, blood, running along with shuffling feet and, well, they are just great arnt they?

I'm remembering how much I love them because I got to watch one of my most FAV movies of all time!!!! IT'S GREAT! It's about Samuari, but I am sure you guessed that. OK, Akira Kurosawa's Yojimbo is one of the best things but to film and the Seven Samurai is also up there with it. But for Samurai you just CAN NOT BEAT a movie that stands even head and shoulders above those great movies! .... LONE WOLF! GREAT! OMG it's great! Moody burning eyes of vengence, sword fighting, slashing one cut killing moves, artful direction, sword fighting and more sword fighting and buckets and buckets and buckets of blood - spraying, gushing, spilling, dripping and more, femal assasins, NINJAS attacking, vengence, sake drinking, moody eye shots, more sword fighiting. Well, it's just great!!!!!!!!!

Has anybody seen this movie? I mean, the first one - sword of vengence? There are actually six ( as far as I know ). Anybody seen Lone Wolf and cub? I tell you, that movie ROCKS...

Samurai... great, arn't they?

<---runs off into the waving grass framed by a bloody setting sun and going arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Sillywabbit, have you seen the Zatoichi films? Less blood and violence but man that guy is a badass, just basically a wandering gambler who kills people. There's a new one starring Beat Takeshi that has all kinds of cool CGI blood spraying around.

I agree though, the guy who plays Ogiami Itto is an awesome actor, I love the part at the beginning when the woman runs up and wants to nurse the kid, his stone-faced reaction is great.

I love all types of martial arts movies. There's one called 'Azumi' that has a lot of the stuff you seemed to like about Lone Wolf & Cub. It's about a female assassin, it has a lot of cool stylistic stuff. The old Sonny Chiba films are good, there's an oldie called 'Samurai Armageddon' that's supposedly being remade.
