| Jeeze you don't ask tough questions, do you? There are so many books I enjoy, narrowing it down to one author would be more than difficult, at least for me. Dave |

| But surely one must have a selection of enjoyable writers they read again-and-again, right? So from that small group of writers, one (or two) must stand above the rest. That's how I think it...there's nothing wrong with that type of thinking. I read this way: First, I could care less about the story. All I care about is style - how the story is told The quality of the writing itself. I can care less about the story. So for me to assign favor to one writer (per genre) is easy. I can't understand why it is so hard to post your number one writer. When I buy the book I search for authors and not story lines. I guess that we all thought about what we read in like manner. Am I wrong?

| Stewart you know perfectly well that I am a single node and you are the big boss - with authority that can make-or-break any member (node) you target. I will not respond to you because I do not want to be kicked off the forum like that other "green" board - a severe (overkill) injustice.

| Why is it that all I see is the back of your head? I've said I was sorry and still, with a proclamation of forgiveness, I am ignored and scorned. If the shoe was on the other foot, I would use the tools of my authority and extend my hand to such a person and exhort his welcome back into to forum; I'm taking about the "green" group Stewart. I know you are a man of character.

Your choice is easy because, even though you think you read a lot, the actualy reading you do is minimal. And before you even think about it ,fast reading technic would not help for has someone very justly said here, it is only good for studies or technical books, not for pleasure. By reading say ten books a year and understanding about half, your choice is quite simple. Try to narrow to say to your favorite contemporary writer, Americain, English, ... by been so general, you just make it really obvious the wrong idea you have about books. BTW there is good authors who also knows how to tell story with style. Not like Stephen king (who is good too) but like real literature, Umberto Eco for exemple.
