i used the library a lot when i was younger as i didn't hav much cash but these days i buy most of mine. i have the bonus of working in a bookshop so i get a 30% discount and i also do a lot of second hand book buying on the net.
im a huge fan and love the stories some them can reallty freak me out. espically 'oh, whislte and ill come for you, my lad' and 'canon alberic's scrap book.'
just wondered what everyone else thought of his writing.

im not an easily scared person so a lot of horror can seem a little dull sometimes (even though i do love horror) but hp lovecraft had the uncanny abilty to unnerve me quite frequently. only him and MR James seem to have that effect on me :)
I was just wondering if anyone else had read her Temeraire series?
i love it a lot and was hopeing others had read it and could comment on it and possibly sugest similar books :)
you know out of my 6 years working in various bookshops ive often wondered if the do work, i mean the amount we sell seems to say that they either do or they have brilliant marketing strategies. ive asked a couple of friends who do read them and one says they don;t help at all and the other says...
i have to say i loved Stardust its one of my favourite books. i love the whole fairytale aspect of. i would say the John Conolly's The book of lost things is quite similar in its twisiting of fairytales.
on a side note i was lucky enough to meet Mr Gaimen at the book launch of Anansi Boys...
if you enjoyed Good Omens i would recommend reading more of Neil Gaimens work. hes a brilliant authur. try Neverwhere or Stardust, they are both quite so won;t take to long to read. also his short stories are brilliant espically in SMoke and Mirrors.

working day - usually and hour or so at work (during lunch break) then maybe a few minutes while im on the shopfloor, as im surounded by books i browse and read while on the job lol. then when i get home maybe another hour, half hour when i get in and dinner is being made and another half an...
i usually find some of the supposed self help books quite amuseing (im talking and the sex in the city inspired nonsense that makes you feel like an insignificant waste of space, aplogise to those who like them :) just an opninion :) )
