The Castor & Pollux Covenant

The first Iraq war, the one that liberated Kuwait, gave rise to the illicit trade carried out under the mantle of oil-for-food treaties. THE CASTOR & POLLUX COVENANT, a novel of some 70,000 words, chronicles the remarkable rise of Carrie Carter, labeled Cash & Carrie by the tabloids, from centerfold model to the head of a large oil company, and her role in the shady transactions. The novel is now available in the Kindle Store (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004PYDGB2)

The tale opens with a glance at Sadam Hussein’s Iraq, and quickly moves to a sleepy Italian village where kidnapping, mayhem, and the murder of Carrie’s new husband, Bertino Miramonte, take place. His death eventually leads to Carrie taking over at the head of the Miramonte Oil Company, while rumors emerge that Bertino was murdered because he was on the verge of blowing the whistle on the Iraqi Oil- for-Food program. Intrigue and innuendo about government involvement are finally settled with an uneasy truce.

Events following the first Iraq war have never been satisfactorily exposed, thus providing an ideal backdrop for THE CASTOR & POLLUX COVENANT. Carrie Carter begins her ascent as an innocent who soon masters the maneuverings of big business, using any means to consolidate her position – including blackmail and, if necessary, murder – with the help of a powerful mentor. When she says that there are consequences to breaking a covenant, she’s not merely uttering platitudes.
