Probably one of the best films I've ever seen.
Gorgeous scenery, fabulous costumes and a stirring soundtrack.
A stunning film from beginning to end, if you have not seen it; do!

Have you seen many movies? No offense.
I saw it, and I thought it was okay. Nothing really special. But, different strokes.

I am in my sixties and have seen thousands of movies.
The 'message' behind 47 Ronin was the reason for my enthusiasm.
Some others are;

Singin' in the Rain; 1492: Conquest of Paradise; Braveheart; Fight Club;
The Bridge on the River Kwai; Blade Runner; Book of Eli; Silence of the Lambs;
True Lies; Seven Samurai; Gladiator; Hell Drivers;
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly; Aliens; Black Hawk Down; Immortals ;
Escape From New York; The Life of Brian; Blood Diamond; In the Mouth of Madness;
Scanners; Dark Angel; The Crow; Jabberwocky;
Saw; Double Indemnity; Demolition Man; Kind Hearts and Coronets;
A Few Good Men; White Heat; Dreamscape; Kill Bill 1;
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels; Ben Hur; Dr Strangelove; Last Wagon ;
Enter the Dragon; Day of the Dead; District 9; Lord of the Rings [all 3];
Lifeforce; Liar Liar; Last King of Scotland; Law Abiding Citizen ;
Masque of the Red Death; Mr Majestic; Mechanic (latest version); Matrix 1;
Pitch Black; Professionals; Red Cliff; Soylent Green;
Zulu; Spartacus; Time Bandits; 10 Rillington Place;
Ulzana's Raid; Usual Suspects; Vikings; Valdez is Coming;
Escape From Sobibor; Enemy at the Gates; War Games; Young Frankenstein.

May I see your list please?

I have not yet seen it. What was the message you took away from this film?
(please insert
Spoiler
quotes if needed)

Ok, ok... I can't fault your taste in movies then! Some of your favorites are some of mine too.
Just not 47 Ronin... Maybe I am biased against Keanu Reeves...

If you mean because of his wooden acting, then I agree, however it was well observed in 47 Ronin was it not?
What films are on your list, that are not on mine?

Does anyone else want to list their favourite films?

You know.... now that you mention it.... his (non) acting style did sort of work in that movie. I think I am just sort of tired of the "Magical" white man as a movie theme. You know, Dances with Wolves, Last Samurai, Avatar, or even Tarzan for that matter. It seems like whenever you toss a white dude into a closed society he pretty quickly becomes the most important/ most badass/ most influential person in that society. At least in movies.

Well, I have a lot of favorites, but most notably some of my absolute favorites are Cohen Bros. movies : True Grit, Fargo, Miller's Crossing, No Country For Old Men. Then there is Mystic River, Once upon a Time in The West, Godfather I & II, Goodfellas, The Departed, Coming to America, Blazing Saddles, Caddyshack, and a whole lot more I can't think of on the spot.

If you haven't seen it give The Brother From Another Planet a try, it's a good twist on your magical white man theme, Joe Morton doesn't even speak.

Lol! I vaguely remember that movie!! Can't remember if it was funny or not... I will have to track it down.
