Desperate Endurance is the result of my reading a couple of books by writers (who shall remain nameless) who know nothing about horses or Endurance Riding and try to use them in mysteries etc. Nothing bothers me more than mis-information.
So, I write about things I know and love adding fictional stories into the mix. Bethany, lead character, is not me, but her experiences on the trail and in camp are composites of my experiences. I've stopped at a rest area exactly like the one where she witnesses the murder. I've ridden alone and come across "a black SUV" driving the jeep trail and turned my horse into the woods because the tinted windows made me uncomfortable.
I enjoy writing and plan to continue using Riverview and some of those living there as characters for stories and romances. It's fun to make up a town and people it with interesting characters.
