Hello, I am a high school senior and my teacher has assigned an independent reading project. I honestly don't read books independently so I need some help on a good book to read, or some authors I might like. The book we choose has to be at least an 11th grade reading level, at least 150 pages and it cannot be a book that was turned into a movie.
I am open to any genre (except romance) as long as it's a story that always makes you want to pick the book back up. For example I started reading "Milkweed" by Jerry Spinelli, and it's not a bad book, it just doesn't excite me to where I want to keep reading it. One example of a book I liked was "The Five People You Meet In Heaven" by Mich Albom. Any suggestions will be very helpful, Thank you.
