Hey people,
I've got my audio book Resurrection of a Broken Mind published at iTunes!
iTunes - Muziek - 'Resurrection of a Broken Mind (feat. Alan Ballany)' van Marcel Admiraal
Very proud of this fact! Thought I'd share.
It's a horror story. It's about Peter Holleweg who is...
Hello,
I run a small blog called Floating Robes. Every Sunday I publish a short story by an unknown author. It's a good way of getting some publicity and getting your name out there.
You can submit at floatingrobes(at)gmail.com.
Send me your short story/flash fiction/prologue to a novel or...
Hello,
I recently watched this as I found out a friend of mine worked on it. He was one of the art directors and told me many a fine tale of the going-ons on the set.
Anyway, I quite liked it and I think it sort of got me interested in Clive Barker.
Has anyone read the Book of Blood? I...
'He does feel ashamed of himself and so he should.'
A good piece of writing. First we meet the lamenting young student and then the contradiction in the Romanian immigrant. Not bad.
Do keep the author off the page, though, especially when writing in the third person. You, as a human being...
Dear Ryan,
It's absolutely not stupid. I think the writers showcase is at least 1 way of getting some feedback. Check out other avenues as well, though. Try Authorsden or Issuu, those are great writing communities.
I do think you need something like your school, though, if only to get some...
"The next day I find out that they are a couple again."
I take this as an example. One piece of advice that helped me very much, was when someone told me I should not 'tell' the story, but 'show' it. Don't just tell that you found this out, but exactly HOW did you find this out. Invent some...
Hello everybody,
I saw the opportunity was here to show some of my work. Below you will find a sample from my story 'On a night filled with Evil'. It's taken from my horror collection Beneath Dark Waters, which is now available.
Let me know what you think and I'll know what to look out for...
To what database is yours hooked up to? Ingram? How could an author/publisher add their database to yours? And could I get a 'Like' button to show on my blog?
Just some questions. For the rest, it looks great, though. Simple and to the point!
Keep up the good work!
Marcel
Hey guys,
I miss Calvin & Hobbes too. For a long time it was my #1 comic book, right after my Garfield-phase. But I've found a good substitute for it, called Lloyd and the Bear by Ian Gibson. It's about a small boy and his bear who get kidnapped by space aliens. The kid is not too smart (just...
Probably for the best, it'll ruin your happy memories. I remember watching a bit of one of them and it was a big yawn-fest. Same with the Saw-movies. First one, good concept, the rest... well...

Yeah, I got to admit, they sent me into a right panic, but I can't help finding extremely interesting at the same time. It's my curse... sigh...

Going around the web, I found this call for submissions. Apparently it's a new publisher doing a fantasy anthology.
Inceptus Press
I am in no way connected to this. It just looked interesting and since there are a lot of authors here, I thought it might help.
Regards,
Marcel
The only two albums I bought in 2010:
Mumford & Sons - Sigh no More (folk/rock, I guess)
Christopher Tin - Calling all Dawns (new classical. Wonderful!)
For 2011 we have to wait what comes out. Since I find these times a bit of a lull for new music, I keep my eyes peeled for the few gems...
I love Ghost Story and Julia. I think they are his best. I also read The Hellfire Club and it put me off of Straub entirely. But the earlier two are high on my classics list.
Marcel
Eeeuhhh!
By the way, concerning my last post. The creatures are called Giant Weta's and they look something like this:
Lords Of Apathy: LOA ANIMAL SPOTLIGHT: GIANT WETA
Talking about insects growing larger than Mother Nature intended!
Regards!
Marcel
Sorry, I've forgot to give you some examples of self-publishing writers:
Goblinbooks
Harris Tobias
The Feckless Goblin
Well, they're all horror writers, but that's just the circle I'm in.
Here's one more to let you see what you can do with a blog:
Final Girl
Hope it'll give you some...
Hey John,
your blog looks alright. The immense amount of pictures made my computer react a bit slow, but that says more about my computer than your blog, though.
Doing some of these posts from the viewpoint of a dog is very cute. It'll keep people interested and coming back for more. The first...
Dear all,
for some time now my blog Floating Robes has been open to the public. Please take a look as I'm sure you will find either something interesting or humorous or though-provoking. Or at the very least, you can laugh at my attempts to be interesting, humorous or thought-provoking...
