Hey, I was curious whether or not Andrea Bocelli's fanbase was as big as they say -- I recently got into his music after seeing him live at the Universal Amphitheatre. And I really don't listen to much classical music, but I got a deal on his new CD "Andrea" and I've really liked it so far...
There's probably a thread for this already, but just curious...think of something that you thought would be good but turned out to be a disappointment:
An American Tragedy -- Theodore Dreisher (spelling?)
Dry, dull, and reminded me of a hollywood script, a bad one, or maybe Disney.
Anything by Faulkner -- I typically never have any problems with dialects, but for some reason I read the first 40 pages of As I Lay Dying and still have no clue what the book is about, lol. Same with The Sound and The Fury, tried it, with some luck, but still....I gave up.
I still use this little card that I bought from a deaf man at a bar in Santa Monica. I gave him a dollar for it -- everyone has seen this before, right? -- and I figured I might as well get some use from it. I've never had a reason to learn sign language, and it made a perfect bookmark.
