    Mutiny on the Bounty

I'd like to know about the mutiny on the Bounty, but all I can find are the accounts by Bligh (he seemed to cash in big time!). Does anyone know of any books about what happened, preferably not too scholarly? A fictionalised account would be good.

    Earthseed

Has anyone read the Earthseed novels by Octavia E Butler? When I started reading the series I did think that it was just more formulaic fantasy, but I got interested and just kept on through four books!

    Mervyn Peake and Gene Wolfe

Titus Groan is one of my favourite books. The use of language is amazing - it makes me smile with sheer pleasure when I read it. The story itself is surreal but intriguing. Gormenghast, the second book in the trilogy, is also worth reading, but Titus Alone did not have the same impact on me. Try...
