In my opinion, Child is one of the best. If you haven't picked up any of Child's books, do yourself a favor. Killing Floor is the first in the series, and hard to put down. Reacher is an incredible protagonist.
David,
I am also a very big fan of crime novels/mysteries. But, every now and then I venture away into a little nonfiction. It isn't easy!
Who are some of your favorite crime writers?
Sergo and K-S,
Thank you for the recommendations. I will take a look online to see what I can find. Boris Akunin seems to be an author that interests me.
Sergo,
I live in America, and I am always looking to try out new authors. If you could recommend a Russian author, who would you recommend in the mystery/crime/thriller genre?
Thanks.
This book happens to be one of my favorites of all time. I read it when it first came out, and I happen to have it on my bookshelf. In my book it says "The word fit School like a condom, the conceit of a man who could manipulate and murder at the same time tout himself as father confessor to...
I have The Death Collectors in my TBR pile. I've been busy getting caught up on some other authors. I've also had the chance to speak with Mr. Kerley. I work for a school, and he may end up coming to talk to our students about writing, editing, etc.
I will look for Caught Stealing, and see...
You are correct, it is Rostnikov. I accidently misspelled it. Anyway, I am ordering the first in the series off the internet, and I am going to start the series soon.
Sergo,
Have you read any of Stuart Kaminsky's novels featuring detective Inspector Porfiry Rostnkov? I know they take place in Russia. Someone on another message board recommended the series to me.
Thanks.
Right now I have been in a reading frenzy. I have been reading about 2 novels per week. I prefer softcover books over hardcover books, but I read both. My own personal library is stocked with about 80% softcover books. I have a variety of authors that I like to read, and I am trying new ones...
Scooter13,
I am a big fan of the crime genre. Robert B. Parker is good, especially if you get into the Spenser series. I also like reading Robert Crais, Randy Wayne White, and Ed McBain.
