War & Peace?
I've started it 3 separate times and never have gotten past page 3. Any suggestions for making this an easier read? I REALLY want to conquer it.
I know and accept people in different countries have different names, that is not the issue. The issue is remembering them and keeping them all straight. Guess I'll have to take notes as I read. Thanks
Okay not sure why my post got moved, but whatever.
I don't want to know about preparing to read War & Peace, I want to know if anyone has read it and how they got thru it. The Russian names throw me off and I need to figure out how to get past it.
ANY ADVICE???
War & Peace
Has anyone read this book?
If so, I need some advice... how did you get thru it?
I've started it a couple of times and just can't get past the distraction of all the Russian names. Any advice???? I really want to read this book this summer.
I can't even count the amount of money i've spent on textbooks... they are outrageously overpriced.

I have books in every room of my house- some of them "organized", some of them not. If they are organized, they are together by author other than that it's a free for all!
I buy all my books. I used to work in a bookstore, so my book obsession started then. Now I have to have them all at my fingertips when I want them- I don't want to have to run to the library to check them out!
I ALWAYS give books for Christmas, usually to each member of my family.
I got the new Mitch Albom book for my dad.
Copy of Midsummer Night's Dream for my step dad.
Secret Life of Bees for my mom.
Can't remember the titles we bought for in laws and nieces and nephews.
I received The...
There are sooooooooooo many. I plan to read them all, someday. These are just a few.
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance
The Lovely Bones
War and Peace
It seems I start a book and something happens and sometimes I just forget about it. The only one that I really have a *good*...
Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
Reading Lolita in Tehran by Azar Nafisi
Drop City by TC Boyle
Between the Bridge and River by Craig Ferguson
FINISH: The Lovely Bones
I wasn't sure exactly where to put this thread, so I chose the general forum. Does anyone read literary journals? I really got into them when I was in grad school- I subscribe now to the Paris Review and the Iowa Review.
