H.P.& The Deathly Hallows midnight party-to go or not to go?

That's horrible! There was one guy at the midnight party thing that got his book and came back into the crowd, read the end, looked around, took a deep breath...and was promptly grabbed by security and taken out the door. Which was probably lucky for him, considering the circle of people around...

H.P.& The Deathly Hallows midnight party-to go or not to go?

I stayed up all night to read it and hadn't heard any spoilers either...I guess I was lucky!

    J. K. Rowling: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows **CONTAINS SPOILERS**

Most of the book seemed pretty slow, to me, and I felt the end was way too rushed. The whole "19 years later" thing was great, but I would have liked to see more of what happened to other characters, not just Ron-Hermione, Harry-Ginny, Draco-whoever and their families. I'll be going for sure. I've missed all the other ones, and this is the last chance. Has anyone else seen those pledge card things for people to swear they won't reveal the end of the book? Not that that will be any kind of deterrent...

Children's Books you still love to read today.

Running Out of Time by Margaret Peterson Haddix...if you saw the Village, read this book. This is book is extremely similar, but ten times better and more believable than the movie that many believe was based on the book. Where The Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls...this book makes me cry...

    What If:

The only one I know of like that is What If?: The World's Foremost MILITARY Historians Imagine What Might Have Been. If you go on Amazon and search that one, it gives a bunch of other books along the same lines. Hope that helps!

Can anybody recommend some good mysteries?

You could always try Tamar Myers. She has two series, one featuring an antiques dealer and the other a Menonite (sp?) woman who runs an inn. Both are hilarious and have excellent characters, and it's often impossible to predict the solution of the mystery/murder until the very last second...
