Hello, I wonder if someone can help me. I read a book, a lady writer, I think was from Burnley, or at least Lancashire, I enjoyed it very much, but cannot remember what it was called or who the author was, other than a woman from Lancashire! It would be under womens fiction I guess and was about a girl from birth who went into service with a wealthy family and then went to live on her own and who met a farmer. I know this is vague, but if you could throw some author's names at me, I can then look and the title might spring to mind. Thanks.

Sorry, I don't know the book you're talking about, but in case it's any help, there's a fairly popular female (romance) author from Lancashire named Anne Baker.
