Alright, This has been bugging me for a while now. Back when I was in the fourth grade i started reading a book i found in the library. I didn't understand most of it and I found it a little scary at the time, so I ended up not finishing it. Now, I'm in the 11th grade and I want to find that book and finish it. I do not remember the title or the author but I figured you all might be able to help me. I'll try to describe what I remember and see if anyone knows what I'm talking about.
Ok, I remember it was about an orphan boy. the only thing i remember about him was that he kept commenting that his face had a foxy quality to it.
I remember that the boy would go to a place in the woods to be alone, I think it was a tower but I'm not sure. There he encountered a hunter of sorts. Who carried an empty gun, because he was hunting for experiences or something similar. The boy and the hunter had some deep discussions that I don't remember and probably didn't understand at the time.
I remember the boy was adopted by an old man. But after staying with the old man for a while, the boy looked in the mirrior and noticed the foxy quality of his face had dissapeared.
I also remember the boy coming home and seeing blood everywhere, which had come from the mans old dog. The old man had hurt the dog. (This is the part that bothered me the most), the old man said that he was teaching the dog to die, or something along those lines. This was the point that I stopped reading the book.
Now though, I'm curious as to what this was all about, it has been bugging me for a long time. I have been searching and asking almost everyone I know about what it was called. I have had no luck so again If anyone knows what I'm talking about, I would greatly appreaciate a response.
