    My ex hubby's family (Southern USA) had a collection of Sambo like cookie jars in their kitchen. To them it was normal culture. Not sure how I felt, but I'm caucasion so it's really irrelevant. I now live 1400 miles away...

    You all probably know about this one (I'm always behind the times) but if you like podcasts you should subscribe to The Skeptics Guide to the Universe http://www.theskepticsguide.org/ (free through iTunes). Very cool science podcasting and wicked humor weekly. I'm an addict.

    Recently Finished

    Love in the Time of Cholera, Gabriel Garcia Marquez Thought provoking. An interesting mix of disgust and fascination with this Humbert Humbert like character and his 50 year destructive obsession with Fermina Diaz.
