    One book wonder

    I thought this was interesting (maybe it's just me) but this guy is doing a documentary on the life of a writer named Mark Moskowitz. Moskowitz, I guess, published one book in 1972 called The Stones of Summer which got really good reviews but he never published anything else. He had some sort...

    Books of your childhood

    I loved Encyclopedia Brown. Sally Kimball and Bugs Meany. If anyone's seen the movie About Schmidt, one of the nice touches is when Jack Nicholson is reading an Encyclopedia Brown book and you see him flip to the end to read the solution.

    Difficult books.

    This is heartening to me! I read the LOTR trilogy every couple years as well and when I finish I always give the Silmarillion another go, never with any success. I'm 28 now...so maybe in 2 years? :)
