    Terry Goodkind

I just finished the first book in Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series. I found it a very good fantasy book. It is in the league of Robert Jordan's Wheel of time series. Not my favorite, but way up there on my list.

    Greg Bear

I've been reading Greg Bear's Queen of Angels for about 2 weeks now. I'm finding it hard to get into. Usually a book like this is a 3 or 4 day read for me. So needless to say I'm not that impressed with him. His characters aren't that interesting and the story just isn't that compelling...

    David Eddings

I'm almost to the end of the BelGariad series. I'm having trouble with it because it's quite juvenile and somewhat boring. I probably won't read anything else of his.

What do you think of this audiobook business idea

As with any business it's usually more about the marketing than anything else. Creating a good product will probably be the easiest and least expensive thing you do. In addition to what beer good has mentioned you should look into setting up your own download server and internet marketing that...

How important is indexing of the book? What should I do about this...

Are you talking about an index or a table of contents? Most people start with the table of contents when picking up a reference book. A good table of contents will cover only major subjects in your book. You'll have about 10 or 15 seconds to catch a potential reader's attention. If the...

    Sterotyping people that read.

I have two son's that caught the love of reading in grade school when the Harry Potter series came out. They also did all of the normal teenage stuff like video games, texting, MMORPG, hanging out with friends, and the like. They are now both adults and every year they spend more time reading...

    Robert B. Parker passed away

Yeah, I'll miss him too. I used to read his Spenser novels years ago when I wanted a very quick read. I could almost finish one in an afternoon...just before a little nap.

    J.D. Salinger

I read catcher in the rye when I was over 40...and so I wasn't impressed. It was a terrible book. Maybe it was my age, but I just didn't get it.

    Need some suggestions

Check out Steven Erikson and his Mazalan Book of the Fallen series. You'll get it all there.

    Best place to read

LOL. Me too. However, I do love the patio from spring to fall. I try to BBQ a lot with roasts, whole chickens, or other meats that take 40 minutes to an hour to get done. That way I can sit on the patio with a glass of wine and read. If my wife interrupts me to help with dinner I tell her I...

E-Book price war is heating up

This is bad news in the short run, but it'll all work out in the long run. The ebooks will eventually be priced pretty low as the competition heats up.

All the reasons to say buy the physical book that is also availabe for free online.

Ouch. My mom would never get fooled by this...she always read the last chapter first. If your books are good enough then people will buy the hard copy. For me, if a book makes me think then I'll buy a copy because I know I'll want to take it with me on vacation or out to my patio to read...

When should you throw a book away?

I never throw books away. I just can't do it.

Trying to find a fantastic fantasy book that isn't part of a series

Libri has given you a good list too. Some of the classics like Gulliver's travels and Don Quixote can be downloaded for free. You can see if you like them before adding them to your library.
