    H.P. Lovecraft

I quite like lovecraft. His work has bags of atmopshere and scope. His mythos has been carried on by tons of writers, including ramsey campbell, august deraleath and brian lumley, so you might want to give them a try.

    Vampire Novel Recommendations

Can anyone recommend a good vampire print on demand book? I read somewhere that in 2002 there were 150 print on demand vampire novels published. I've checked out some of the free e-books and online stuff, with various levels of succes, some I love, some ain't so hot, but full marks for trying. I...

    Werewolf Novel Recommendations

If you fancy some good pulp werewolf fiction you might want to try getting a copy of one of guy n smiths werewolf novels, the werewolf, return of the werewolf and son of the werewolf. They turn up on ebay every now and then.

Really - and I mean truly - scary Books

I loved Creed by James Herbert. I didn't find it to be too scary though. At points I thought it was going to threaten it, but for me the scares never came. It's an entertaining novel none the less.

Really - and I mean truly - scary Books

Haunted is another good scare by James Herbert. I read it while at school in the 90's and it gave me a couple of sleepless nights.

    Thomas Harris

Wasn't really struck on red dragon, but enjoyed silence of the lambs. It's a pity he only gets round to writing a novel every twenty five years.

    Where are they now?

Guy N Smith was a pulp writer from the 70s/80s. He was quite a prolific horror writer. You can still pick up some of his novels on ebay. At one point he was one of the best selling writers in Poland.

    Where are they now?

Whatever happened to Guy N Smith? Does anyone remember the horror author who wrote over a hundred books, including the crab series of novels. Does anyone know what he's up to now, or if he's bringing any more novels out? Or how about Brian Aldiss, author of Frankenstein Unbound?

Where to start with Stephen King?

Bag of Bones If it's a Stephen King novel you're after, I highly recommend Bag of Bones. after that I'd pick The Stand, followed by The Shining.

Who is your favourite author, and why?

Herbert and Hutson Favourite author for me has to be James Herbert followed closely by Shaun Hutson. Ok I'll admit there's a bit of a horror motif here, but I like what I like.

Really - and I mean truly - scary Books

Scary novels I recommend A Haunted Man by Stuart Neild is a really scary novel if you're into the supernatural stuff. It certainly had me looking over my shoulder on a dark night. I'm looking forward to his take on Spring Heeled Jack, as this supposedly true demon scared the hell out me when I...
