    Perception of reading/readers..from family?

First, I'd like to apologize if there's already a thread about this. I searched, and couldn't find one. As I'm sure a lot of you celebrated Christmas yesterday, and as I'm sure a lot of you got books as presents :D I thought this might be an interesting topic of discussion. Yesterday was the...

    On The Beach

Agh, I started posting a reply, walked away, and it told me I wasn't logged in when I came back, finished it, and tried to preview. I read On The Beach quite some time ago, but I remember extremely well the depressing mood it got me in as I was nearing the end of it. It is definitely a...

What fiction book do you keep reading over and over?

Haha, I remember those books. I remember reading one where you were travelling through a castle, and if you made the wrong decision at any point you died in some weird way. Always fun to for a book to tell you you messed up and now are dead :)

    Just started reading again

Well then, I think I'm going to have a hard time deciding between the two when it comes time for a Dostoevsky read. Great, I'm already indecisive enough as it is when it comes to books :p

    First book you ever read?

Novel? That's a hard one. I think the first "book" I read on my own was a short one called Freckle Juice but I wouldn't consider it a novel so much as a short story.(looks like it's 48 pages). It's the first real memory I have of reading on my own. :) Not sure how old I was. Why I...

    Just started reading again

I do realize that :) but I'm hoping the first one concludes enough to where I won't need to read the second one immediately after to understand what's going on in it. My second-hand bookstore also seems to have almost the full series, so I wouldn't mind going on with the series if it's...

    Just started reading again

Thanks for all the suggestions guys :) I started Lovely Bones last night, and should finish it tonight (when I actually have time to read). It seems like a good choice. Since most the other recommendations were for King, I think I'll go for one of his next, probably The Gunslinger, as it...

    Reading on the computer?

I noticed in the free books thread, people were claiming to read online. I've tried this a little, but it seems like it just pains my eyes in an unimaginable way. When you do this, are there any tips for making it easier on the eyes? Position of the light in the room maybe? How often you...
