Doodle - I LOVE the smell of all books whether old or new. I sniff every book I read about 20 times during. I tend to sit on my stairs (bookcase goes up the entire stairway) and gaze adoringly at my books, touch them, etc. Sick but true.
mehastings - I never put my name in my books as I find that akin to defiling them. I don't have a problem with other people doing it, don't get me wrong. It's just that I'd NEVER write in a book, put a stamp on a book, put a sticker on a book, etc.
I guess that means that if anyone ever stole...
mehastings - a hundred out on loan??!! My lord woman! I have one out on loan and have to stave off panic attacks whenever I think about the poor thing being away from home!

I probably call in when most people would go to work. I sometimes suffer from a rare form of headache that although makes my boss happy to see it (he's a neurologist) it's very difficult for me to do my job properly. Also, it physically manifests itself on my face so I look as if I was beaten...
I read the Gunslinger when it first came out (in the 80s) and I LOVED it! I feel the other way, that the books get worse as they went on. Maybe it's an age thing. It's been almost 20 years since I read The Gunslinger and I finished The Dark Tower (final book of the series) early-mid last year.
I reckon Saw was far better than Saw II. In Saw II, I sorta figured something was up with the girl being involved AGAIN anyway and I don't think the twist was as sudden and unexpected as in SAW.
Someone told me that they actually stood up in the theatre when the twist came in Saw because they...
