    Book nerd level

Doodle - I LOVE the smell of all books whether old or new. I sniff every book I read about 20 times during. I tend to sit on my stairs (bookcase goes up the entire stairway) and gaze adoringly at my books, touch them, etc. Sick but true.

    Bookshelf organisation

Alphabetically, actually. Fiction in with non-fiction. I'll have to get a pic put up.

    Pictures of your book collection

mehastings - I never put my name in my books as I find that akin to defiling them. I don't have a problem with other people doing it, don't get me wrong. It's just that I'd NEVER write in a book, put a stamp on a book, put a sticker on a book, etc. I guess that means that if anyone ever stole...

Turning your book passion into an occupation

I'm nervous as all getout! It freaks me out when I think about it but when I say that I'm doing it people nod their heads knowingly and say things like "As it should be", etc. Of course TBF members get a discount! You will all have to come over to Brisbane and spend a week hanging out at the...

Turning your book passion into an occupation

Gulp - I am actually doing that! I am moving to the mainland and opening a used book shop! It's actually an extension of a friend's business. He has big sales 4 times a year, is involved in a radio station fund raising drive and has a swiftly moving Ebay arm. I will be in another state, however...

Calling in sick to work-do you do it?

yeah - my boss is very understanding! He presented my case at a conference in Japan. He gets to study me as long as he lets me have the days off! He's a headache specialist.

Calling in sick to work-do you do it?

I probably call in when most people would go to work. I sometimes suffer from a rare form of headache that although makes my boss happy to see it (he's a neurologist) it's very difficult for me to do my job properly. Also, it physically manifests itself on my face so I look as if I was beaten...

Stephen King: The Dark Tower 1: The Gunslinger

I read the Gunslinger when it first came out (in the 80s) and I LOVED it! I feel the other way, that the books get worse as they went on. Maybe it's an age thing. It's been almost 20 years since I read The Gunslinger and I finished The Dark Tower (final book of the series) early-mid last year.

    Saw II

I reckon Saw was far better than Saw II. In Saw II, I sorta figured something was up with the girl being involved AGAIN anyway and I don't think the twist was as sudden and unexpected as in SAW. Someone told me that they actually stood up in the theatre when the twist came in Saw because they...

The Quiet American. I was very surprised by how it grabbed me and pulled me in. Fantastic story!
