I am currently in the middle of reading Owen Meany and I love it. I wouldn't want to see any movie adaptations of this book, because they would never be able to create that VOICE like my imagination has. I plan to pick up Garp as soon as I'm through with this one.
I work in the commercial construction industry. I make sure that the pieces that make up the buildings have been approved by the Architect and Owner.
Wow. That sounds pretty boring when you put it on paper. How depressing. :(
My favorites:
Rain, of course. I love to curl up and read when it rains.
The sound of my husband's laugh. :)
The sound of the air rushing past, the roar of the engine and the lap of the waves as we fly across the lake on our boat.
The ocean.
Vox and The Fermata both by Nicholson Baker were two that I couldn't put down. They are short, but hilarious and sexy. I highly recommend them to those who aren't offended by adult content.
