Lord of the Flies is one of the few books I've abandoned. I got to chapter six when I decided I should stop. I found the story to be dull and the characters uninteresting. I still have the chapter bookmarked in case I decided I want to finish the book someday.
I have read Looking for Alaska and Paper Towns and even though I finished both novels, I really disliked them, I practically forced myself into finishing them. That being said, my sister read The Fault in Our Stars and loved it. She kept begging me to read it but I said I wouldn't; I'm just not...
I honestly don't understand why some people find the book inappropriate. It has been challenged and in some parts of the States, banned. There are some who think that it promotes infanticide and I wonder if they've really read the book. I personally didn't find it disturbing and I don't think it...

Re Zane Grey- that's another author that I've heard a lot about but have never gotten around to...
Thanks
I've heard and read excellent reviews on this book and how it's considered the best Western novel of all time. So this really made me want to read it. I haven't received it yet, hopefully sometime this week, but I know that it's a big and long book. I bought it for $17.29. It...
The Giver by Lois Lowry :star5:
A thought provoking and extremely interesting novel. The story ends abruptly and I kind of wished it were longer but nevertheless, the ending was satisfying. If you're looking for a quick and easy read, I recommend it.
