    Khaled Hosseini: The Kite Runner

I recently finished reading this book as well and thought it was very good. The writing was exceptional and vivid. The story was powerful, upseting and at times ironic. It was refreshing to see a book written about a part of the world so often reported in the news but that most of us know so...

    Sir Walter Scott: Ivanhoe

I've tried to watch the movie renditions a few times, but they always fall way short of the book. One movie rendition I saw of it was totally cheesy. Looked like it was filmed with a handheld camera and no costume budget :)

    Sir Walter Scott: Ivanhoe

Are there any Ivanhoe fans out there? I loved that book, one of my favorite classical reads of all time. I couldn't get into Talisman though, both by Sir Walter Scott. Anyone else read much classical literature?

I've read that statistically about 10% more women read than men. I've also seen a recent study that showed 73% of US Adults read at least 1 book a year.

I stopped halfway through, I found it too slow and depressing. I guess that is the point though, isn't it :)

Poll: How old is the average reader on this Forum?

I'm 34, started reading for leisure after college beginning with classic literature. Now I'm into fun stuff like Vince Flynn!
