I've just read Granny by Anthony Horowitz, which is very funny and quite nasty (evil grannies). His Diamond Brothers books are funny too. Just quick, entertaining reads. Nothing very deep - I'm not sure what type of funny you are after for her. Hope she finds something she enjoys.
