Thanks for remembering me, Dear Abecedearian. Actually, I do not read much these days: I am writing a book, so no time for reading... But maybe I will find a minute now and then to come here. (Thanks, Kenny)

The word "****" on a t-shirt - freedom of speech?

Yep - of course it is about people and what they assign to specific words. For me those words are not pleasant - I believe I've never used them before my parents, and really I do not like the feeling the use of them gives to me. ****, on the other hand, is a perfectly nice word. Why not print...

The word "****" on a t-shirt - freedom of speech?

Thanks. It is very pleasant that so many people are interested in our grammar - one of the hardest, according to what I has been told.

The word "****" on a t-shirt - freedom of speech?

Oh, I have thought about ending for quite long: a whole minute or two. This one seemed to appear the easiest one. You English speakers are lucky: this famous f..k word of yours is beautifully shaped. Our Russian word for the same function is very ugly, so nobody... hm... I think nobody would...

The word "****" on a t-shirt - freedom of speech?

Ha. Everybody can wear what one wishes. Everybody can say what one wishes. Etc, etc. But he/she must understand that other people also have rights, and there are certain situations when "free speach" or "free behavior" could be harmful. I.e. there are some responsibilities a mature person...

    Hello from Russia!

I've been to StPetersburg about two weeks ago, as I finally managed to buy our goods from the govt authorities. They got it confiscated after all our efforts to prove our innocense came to nothing. OK, they didn't want to find the truth, they just wanted to get money. So they confiscated the...

    One of our many problems

Very queer. Maybe you Americans are much more unstable than we are... :) I have not met a single Russian forum where politics or religion were forbidden, and all of them manage just fine... Of course debates get very heated sometimes, - but OK, one may kill you in the street, but only call...

    One of our many problems

Oh, Isabell, how would you like hundreds of people waiting in their cars for many minutes (and sometimes for hours!) every time some fat cat decides to use our Government Airfield in Vnukovo? All traffic is cut by our police from both directions between Vnukovo and Moscow until the best people...

    One of our many problems

Hi StillLearn! Really, I cannot uderstand why we cannot talk politics here. Religion - OK, this problem they have because of some seemingly harmless cartoons shows us it's very wise to leave religion lie. But politics... OK, OK - these are the rules. Though I do not think discussing of this...

    One of our many problems

Yep, this is the problem how I see it: people in authority think they have other rules to live by than ordinary people. This tragedy is just one of the most obvious, but we have lots of such.
