How do I get rid of a book title

If you mean your "Currently Reading", you can change that by your to "User CP" and clicking "Edit your details" on the left and telling us what you're reading now. ;)

    Are picture books gender specific?

No problem. I'm just finishing up on a Children's Literature course at the moment as part of my undergraduate degree and I find it an interesting subject. :) I'm quite glad I came across your post as it made me realise that if anything gender related comes up in the exam next month I'm pretty...

    Lud-in-the-Mist

As part of my fantasy fiction course this year, I read Hope Mirrlees' Lud-in-the-Mist, the classic fantasy book about illegal fairy fruit and goblins. Personally, I think it's an amazing book and a really enjoyable read, if a little confusing to figure out thematically (which doesn't mar my...

    Inactivity

I used to be on here when it was really busy, and have logged in for the first time in two years today. It does seem to have gotten a little quieter, but there really is only one solution: post more. If old members have dropped off, it's up to new ones to emerge and fill the gap. All I can say...

Map of the history of Science Fiction

I, too, want a poster of this. My only complaint is the lack of Hope Mirrlees at the beginning of the fantasy section. If Dunsany gets a mention, surely she should too.

    Are picture books gender specific?

I like to think that the books I read as a young child were pretty gender-neutral. Lots of 'Topsy and Tim', 'Mr Men/Little Miss', and random other storybooks with both male and female characters. With the divide in a series like the Mr Men/Little Miss books it's easy for a parent to say 'Oh...

How many books do you own?

Bloody hell, six years after my first post in this thread and I have over 800 books at this point. I need more shelves desperately, as a good section of my wardrobe is taken up by books.

    Historically famous wrong decisions

I actually completely forgot about this. But now that I have been prompted, I think a trip to Borders is in order this week. I shall return with my findings later. ;)

Top 50 bookshops in the U.K.

*hugs Glasgow's Borders* I love that place. I was pleasantly surprised to see one of the Wigtown bookshops on that list, as I feared small shops in the backwoods that is my country might get overlooked. :P As a book town, the whole place is full of lovely little bookshops like that one...

    "Coffee Table Books" hmm..

Currently the "coffee table" in my flat is actually a low trunk with some of my stuff in it which doesn't provide the necessary space for always having books on it (especially since we frequently sit on the floor and eat meals around it). Plus my flatmate is the tidying type, so anything I put...
