Recommend a Book that investigates past civilizations on how they fell a part I want a book that looks at the world of all the past civilizations on earth and what eventually led to their downfall, or what kept them strong for so long. Anybody know of a book such as this?

I dont know if there's a book about this, but this is very interesting to me. I'd like to know if anybody knows of a book that teaches what different martial arts there are and what their origins are. For example: Karate origins Kungfu origins Jiu Jutsu origins Ninjutsu origins etc...

As the topic suggests, do you all suggest a book of that nature? I want a book that leads me on an adventure to uncover something. Possibly something involving a conspiracy where the main character is crazy, yet he is right about his thoughts.
