    Blackberry Forum Access

There is a new application for Blackberry smart phones that will allow Blackberry phone users to browse the forum using their phone. It is called Berryblab. In order to use the software, the forum must run a plug-in that can be found here: vBulletin BlackBerry App | BerryBlab.com. I am...

I actually went through that process of turning multiple mp3 files into one big mp4 file, and it worked OK, though it took a long time as I mentioned. Yes, you can bookmark and adjust playback speed, and those are good things I guess. I think overall though the length of time it takes is the...

One of the things that bugged me about loading books on my Touch was that if you switch away from the book (loaded as music and separated into playlists) and listened to actual music, or did a sync from the computer for any reason, it lost where you were. There are a few ways to avoid losing...

December 2009: Philip K. Dick: VALIS

    Thanks, kinda what I figured.

December 2009: Philip K. Dick: VALIS

I'm only a few chapters into this and have already lost interest/become annoyed. I don't get the sense that he's telling a story of any kind, or at least not trying very hard. He seemed to have been trying to excise something from his soul, rather than entertain or instruct a reader. Is there...

Pushing Up Daisies, I remember that. I started watching it just because of him. Too bad it wasn't a good show.

I remember the tapes days. I was a member of Books On Tape, rentals. Carrying around a box or two of 40 tapes, lol. Still have some kicking around somewhere I bet. I got a waterproof walkman so I could take it on the boat. MP3s are much better. I must just be lucky when it comes to the...

    Stephen King: Under the Dome

Just finished. Awesome. Classic King. I hope he writes forever. Down with Big Jim Renney.

If you tend towards the morally bankrupt as I do, you'll find a search of internet newsgroups to be rewarding.

    Audiobooks

There are massive collections of free audiobooks (those out of copyright) out on the web. There are also many sources for copyrighted material, just depends on how strong your moral compass is I guess.

Audiobooks are great for that. I've sat in traffic jams for hours and couldn't have cared less, because I have audiobooks to listen to. This current batch of iPods make great devices for that. I used to listen to tapes, then CDs, but when I finally made the switch to the MP3s and the iPods, it...

You're talking to a guy who listened to all of the Harry Potter books and (regrettably) all of the Twilight series. Lol. Thanks for the tip, I'll look for it. Maybe you need a 'cone of silence'.

Disregard my comments on the nano, I had shuffle in my head. Nano is a great device for audiobooks.
