    Hi Hi

    Hello
  2. V

Where are you? (in the book you are reading) - please read 1st post

It's London, May of 1898, in the O.C.D. library of four time British Prime Minister William Gladstone. He is explaining the correct way to house thousands of books in one room.

The first sentence in the book you're reading

"When the Irish novelist John McGahern was a child, his sisters unlaced and removed his shoes while he was reading." Ex Libris - Anne Fadiman

    Thanks! :-)

    What books have you hated?

Trail of Tears - the true account of Mary Ingles and the mandatory migration of Native Americans... was that her name? I don't remember. It made me morbidly depressed and I still have flashbacks of the chapter where she gives birth in the woods and chews through the umbilical chord. Yuck!

    Recently Purchased/Borrowed

Naked - David Sedaris Three Minute Meditator - Harp and Smiley and Crimes and Puzzlement - which is one of those read-the-paragraph, look-at-the-picture, solve-the-crime books. Amusing.

Which Was the Last Book You Read in One Sitting?

Me either. :-) I read David Sedaris "Naked" (about 300 pgs) on a flight from LA to Minneapolis a few weeks ago.
