I just finished Crusader by Edward Bloor. I loved it!

I need something good to read. I really like Fantasy, but i like just about everything.

I also don't like tear-jerkers

So i was wondering if someone could give me a recomendation or two please.

Thanks

You might like Sword of Shanarra by Terry Brooks? It's about a half-elf half-human young man who grows up in a village where nothing much happens and ends up on a quest that could determine the fate of the world.

Do you like SciFi? Have you read Ender's Game? It's one of my favorite books. I turned my 12 year old son onto it and he enjoyed it. He was surprised I recommended a book that had a bit of gore in it. (Honestly, I had forgotten about that part!) There are a series of Ender books that follow.

Check out some of the threads in the SciFi and Fantasy forum. You're bound to find something there of interest. Good luck!

Just thought of another one, but you might have read it in school: The Giver by Lois Lowry.

Thanks

Thanks

i have read Ender's Game and every one of it's sequals. I have also read the Giver.

Thanks

Read a William Gibson book.

Try Idoru. That's my favorite so far.

I'm addicted.

He's sci-fi set in the very near future.

The Matrix was inspired by his book, Neuromancer.

He has a new book now called Pattern Recognition. I haven't read it yet.

Lot's of fun but smart, too. Full of ideas and action.

I think he will be considered one of the most important authors of our times.

If you want a great humorous sci-fi book...read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and the rest of that series

I personally loved the ender series and i like william gibson. I liked hitchhiker guide to the galaxy as well( one of the funniest things i've ever read!). I'd also refer you to the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. It's about a human named rand who finds out he's the guy who is mentioned in a prophecy to save the world from the dark one(something like the devil). Basically lots of lies, murder, deceit, tirckery, love, death, war, fighting, magic, and teh other stuff always looked for in a good fantasy series.... bit long tho (average book is 600 pages :\). Anyway good luck with the book search!

Tikibob, do you mean specifically children's books? If so, I can recommend Stravaganza - City of Masks by Mary Hoffman, The Divide by Elizabeth Kay, Mortal Engines by Philip Reeves and the Ice/Storm/Thaw trilogy by Stephen Bowkett. They are all excellent!

I think a post like this is just the right place to get a lot of ideas what everyone else on the forum likes, since it's pretty open on what you'd like to read, and everyone has those absolute favories they'd just LOVE to get the whole world reading....

o meh well, I think u should read Crown Duel and Court Duel by Sherwood Smith. They're about a girl who leads a revolt with her brother against the growing greed of the king. Everyone says the sequel, Court Duel, is better, but I go along with the saying that it's a "rare thing to find a sequel worthy of the original book"! Anyway, it would be counted as fantasy yup. :)

Artemis Fowl..... i just finished this book the other day. It was like a breath of fresh air, and one that i needed badly!

Die Hard with fairies, that about sums it up!!!
