List your least favorite King novels

Insomnia was a strange one for me... I read it and didn't like it much at all, but a few years later I re-read it and really enjoyed it. It's the only King book I've ever changed my opinion of.

I had a somewhat similar experience with it. I read the first couple chapters, and thought, geez what the hell, it's just some old fart getting heatstroke. I put it down and got back to it a couple years later, read it all the way through and loved it (I was really on a Dark Tower kick at the time, and anything that tied into the DT story was pretty thrilling for me).

This was the same for me as well. Most of the books that I read by him had some tie into the Dark Towers and they would keep my attention because of it. The worst King book for me would probably be The Eyes of the Dragon.

I'd add The Gunslinger, but I never went past page 5 of that, so it'd feel dishonest.
I felt like giving it up at the start as well, but I decided to give it a go as I had heard some good things about it, and I was really glad I did. The story really begins to pick up after the first few chapters and does a good job of keeping you interested. It's just a shame that the slow starting diverts people from an otherwise good read (well so far anyway ;) )

But anyway, to get back to the topic, I think that Gerald's Game is his worst. I found the story just so dull and uninteresting. Sure, some bits were freaky, but I don't think that these moments redeem the book. The only reason I finished the book was because back then I was a little optimist and would finish most books no matter what. Bad decision.

I hated Gerald's Game. Can't even say it's a least favourite as that implies it's on my list of favourites.

MY FAVORITE is "Christine". I liked "Thinner" and "Carrie" too.

HATED "The Dark Half"--at least I THINK that's what it was called. Got it for Christmas years ago and couldn't get a third of the way through it. BORING!!
JMO. I'm not a fan of scary books...or scary ANYTHING really. :)

I know. I think it's just fascinating to see that some of my favorites are other people's least favorites and when talking to people I find out that my least favorites are other people's favorites. I liked Hearts in Atlantis and The Girl who Loved Tom Gordon (as a lunchtime read), I didn't like Bag of Bones but I did like It. Oh well! Have a great day

I can't tell that I read a lot of his books.
But "It" for my oppinion is the worst. Especially if i compare this book with Dark Tower

I liked It and The Stand. I've only read a few of his other books and I wonder why he has such a reputation. Most of them are dull and pointless.

Cujo was particularly boring.

I read King when I was younger. After Desperation, Insomnia was the last straw.

It feels wrong to even post on this thread as I really do enjoy reading King, but I guess it'd have to be Cujo.
