Cancelled TV Shows

Everybody? It was false advertising then.

Actually it was on for years. I think they ended it because of cast issues and just a general feeling that it was time for the end. I don't think it was ratings driven at all.

I remember the show The Pretender ended with a cliffhanger one season and then it never came back.
I loved that show!! That show went on for about 4 seasons, I think. They had a series finale and it came to a really nice conclusion. Maybe it was only cancelled in your area.

One of my favourite TV shows when I was in high school was The Sentinel. It got shifted around summer late night television and frequently didn't screen when the cricket went over time. We got about 3 seasons in Australia, give or take because some were just never screened. They bought the 4th series but just never showed it *sigh*. I would still like to see the remaining episodes.

Ok, I know it was a STUPID show, but I loved the quirkiness of it. I loved Cupid with Jeremy Piven. I thought his humor was so silly, and I loved it. It's been the only show that I was pissed about when it was cancelled. I think I even remember that there was even a petiton to get it back. Apparently, it didn't work! ha

firefly. i still mourn. HOWEVER magemanda was kind enough to tell me that there is a movie coming this fall. pins and needles, people!!!!

also joan of arcadia. i thought that was a smart show.

where do I begin......, friends, buffy,Angel, well there are just way too many to list. I hate when they do that, and when they do the series finally's I always cry. :(

If you liked buffy, angel which i loved what do you think of charmed? :)

Married with Children had a long run, but they cancelled the series without a finale or anything.

That was unfair.

I didn't think Buffy was cancelled, I thought SMGellar had just had enough, so the series ended? They should have kept the cast together and made Faith the Vampire Slayer!

Eliza Dushku passed on Faith the Vampire Slayer, to make a show called Tru Calling instread ... which just got cancelled after one season .... <Phil realises this knowledge may make him appear a little sad>

... ahem, anyway :D

I was trying to think of a show I really liked that got cancelled, but as we live in the UK we dont get to see the ones they scrapped after just one season, so its hard to form an attachment. As long as they dont cancel The West Wing, I wont have to go and burn down any telly executives houses :)

I was in the States for the first 8 or 9 episodes of Firefly. I came back to England raving about it. I kept looking to see when it would be on TV and then discovered that it had been cancelled halfway through the first season. The only good thing is that now we'll be able to see Serenity flying on the big screen.

There is a DVD set of Wonderfalls though. My room mate made me watch them. BUTTTTTTT.. I don't know if it was cancelled or not but I love Strangers with Candy. Does anyone else know about that?

Strangers With Candy was cancelled after three seasons.

However, most of the original cast got back together to make a Strangers With Candy movie. It was independent and just released this year. That's all I know but you can go here for more information.

I was pretty unhappy when they cancelled NHL Hockey last season. Does that count?

Yes. Yes it does.

I'm sure there are others, but the one that comes to mind is Northern Exposure.

I've just bought seasons 1+2 on DVD. That was a great programme. Ed always made me laugh.
