I did not know where to put this topic , so here it is. It has also probably been posted as a topic previously, but so be it.

My 3 favorite songs:

1. What A Wonderful Life.......by Louis Armstrong

2. Amazing Grace.................by Nana Mouskouri

3. Cry................................by Johnny Ray

How is that for a mixed bag. :)

While the top three may change considerably, the #1 hasn't changed in over ten years.

mehastings and Rincewind, do you prefer the original 'Sympathy for the Devil'/'Comfortably Numb' or the covers by Sisters of Mercy?

I recommend checking the various covers on 'Sympathy for the Devil' by Laibach. They've made quite a few of them and they usually have a lot of oomph.
 
The only track from the 'Let It Be' album that has stuck in my memory is 'Across the Universe'. I like it. Could it be their only track that only consist of female vocals? The brown shirted boy in the video is a nice feature together with the chorus of "Nothing's gonna change my world".

How Soon Is Now? - The Smiths
Golden Brown - The Stranglers
Losing My Religion - REM.

The first two will probably remain the same, but the third could change - there were too many candidates for third place.
 
In no specific order:

  • The Smiths - Cemetry Gates
  • Eskobar feat. Heather Nova - Someone New
  • Björk - Possibly Maybe

But these lists change a lot for me, so many great artists out there yet to discover..

I agree. My "favourite" song for the moment is Torches by Rise Against, but who knows how long that'll last?

hmmmmm..... I guess it'd have to be the following three:
