Dreams - Realistic Ones

Have any of you had a dream that was very realistic.

I had one Friday night that actually woke me up and I could remember almost every detail. I dreamed that I was having brain surgery, could see myself laying on the operating table very clearly, and then the doctor talking to my wife afterwards and telling her that something went wrong and I did not make it.

The dream still bothers me a little as I have had 4 near death occurances. Hope I am not being too morbid here as that is not my intent.

thats creepy.. i've had plenty of realistic dreams. the last was probably when my exbf came up to me and we were i guess embracing each other.. it was realistic since it felt the same way it felt when we were together

my last realistic detailed dream that i can remember well was during the summer when my dad was in prison for domestic violance/threats.. in the dream i was lying in bed the same way i always layed in it, and i heard them fighting and then he was strangling her until he killed her.. and it was hard to convince myself that it didn't happen when i woke up b/c it just felt so damn realistic.. i couldn't fall asleep that night and when i did, i dreamt that. *sigh*

I have had a few realistic dreams. I had one the other night where my house was infested with rats. And we were walking around in soredust and rat bedding. They had destroyed our house and it looked so strange. I could see every detail. It was odd.

I had one the other night, but I can't really remember what it was about. I just remember thinking 'God, how dumb must I be to think that was real' as soon as I realised it was a dream.

I used to have quite a few nightmares when I was little, so I learnt how to wake myself up from dreams if they ever got too much to handle, and I can even change what's happening in the dream if I really will myself too. I have to really force it to change, though, because if I don't force it enough then it just goes back to what it would have originally been.

Wow, just read that over my post and I sound like I'm off my rocker  I hope you guys can understand it...

I understand perfectly Monkeycatcher. I have learnt to do the same thing because, like you, I used to have a lot of nightmares. Actually I still do, at times, and they are always realistic.

The most realsitic dreams I have (now this will sound confusing) are the ones I have where I dream I'm alseep dreaming. These ones are usually really bad because as I already said, I can change my dreams and wake myself up when I know I'm dreaming. But with these particular dreams what happens is that I dream I'm asleep dreaming and then in my dream I wake up. Generally something bad begins to happen, but because I have dreamed that I have woken up, I actually think I am awake and therefore can't wake myself up. When I do eventually wake up, I tend to remember them very clearly. Thankfully I don't have them too often.

As my luck would have it, the anxiety dreams about forgetting to go to class even though I've been out of school for three years are always the most realistic.

Here I go again...

From the Seth material:

"Now I want you to travel thorough the dream state. No one can journey through your own subjective reality but you. It is unconquered, unknown territory. It is a new and unique reality and if you do not explore it and learn from it no one else will. It is like a garden gone unrecognized. It is like a treasure no one knows about but yourself. In so doing you can apply the knowlege to help yourselves and others but the unique experience of consciousness is your own and there you will reap some of your most beneficial rewards."

and:

"The journeys that you take in the dream state are not imaginary, and they do not represent chaos."

and:

" Your dreams are the mosaics that you put together to form your daily events."

Oh, yes! I always have dreams in which I am late for something important when a major event is coming up. It's horrible - they are always so realistic.

I constantly dream and have had nightmares from as far back as I can remember. The last dream I had, I can only remember bits and pieces of it. I just remember seeing something that looked like it had come out of a fantasy novel...a rectangular space of open land, surrounded by gigantic trees in which the roots were partially out and blackness lay beneath. Then looking up into the sky and seeing a huge area of growing blackness where right beside it was clear day. I asked somebody, "what is that?". Then it cut to another scene. Aliens were invading...lol.

I can't ever remember a time where I have actually dreamt about aliens. I think this was the first. Normally my dreams are more nightmarish. This dream wasn't scary at all.

Edit: Oh, come to think of it I have had one other alien type dream, but that's been it. :D (Little green grinning man)
