HellOOoOOoOOOo :)

I'm Looking for interesting Books or Novels, wrote by an american, irish, australian, british or any author who "English" is his native language.
I'm Looking for a book easy-to-read, no books with too much "styles" (i mean implications...), no classicals like shakepeare.... Its TOO hard :(

I'm open of all suggestions: Science Fiction, fantastic...
I know my english is bad but i RELY ON YOU (lol) to help me to improve it.

Thaaaaank Youuuuuu

Try David Eddings' Belgariad series. The first book (of five) is Pawn of Prophecy. Really fun fantasy series, lots of adventure, and the language and style are very straight forward. Each book is also fairly short and so you won't get bogged down and will feel like you're getting somewhere.

I assume you're after adult-oriented books, right? I mean, childrens books are not what you are looking for.

I would also recommend reading an English version of a book you've already read. In doing so, you already know the story and characters and can concentrate on learning the grammar and vocabulary. For example if you read Harry Potter in your native tongue, try it in English. Or go for a more difficult read if this is too easy.

Bonjour Jaad,

Essayez The Call of the Wild de Jack London.

Hello Jaad,

Try The Call of the Wild by Jack London. London has a very simple and direct style. Also, he doesn't usually use regional dialects so it's easy for someone who wants to learn English.

I hope this will help you.

No, i'm not looking for children books.
I'll read your suggestions :)
ThaaaNk YoU VerY MUCH AGAIN :)

KristoCat, je te rassure, ton français est clair :)

'The curious incident of the dog in the night-time' by Mark Haddon.
Very easy and short read.

You could also try the 'Search inside' feature at www.amazon.com to read some excerpts. Have a look here for an excerpt of Mark Haddon's book.

The Learner has her or his own attributes, motivation and baggage, and these may or may not "fit" with the subject and/or the teacher. The Learner is usually also part of a wider class group of other learners, which may help or hinder (or indeed be irrelevant to) the learning process.

Lawrence Sanders mysteries would probably be good for someone learning English. They are entertaining and the characters are usually educated types who speak properly.

Try some YA (young adult) books.
Cry of the Icemark by Stewart Hill is great.
If you want easier, go for something like Rowan Hood stories. They're older so cheaper, which is nice as well.

Shameless plug, check out my books. My first language (and pretty much friggin only) is English:)

Ooooh, Tim Downs has some really really interesting bug man books, they're mysteries about an entomologist (bug science guy)
