I watched 2 movies. My Darling Clementine starring Henry Fonda and Walter Brennan and the Thomas Crown Affair starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunnaway.

Mystery Men (re-watch): While I realise it's not the best movie in the world, it makes me laugh :D

Big Fish: It's Tim Burton, how can you go wrong? Alright, let's not bring up Planet of the Apes. Everybody is allowed a mistake, right?! It's a touching, funny, and magical story. I can recommend it.

Speaking of Tim Burton, we watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Friday. I thought he did a great job and was really glad he didn't slavishly stick to the original movie. Is it just me, or does the actress playing Verucca Salt remind anyone else of Tim Curry? She has that same wicked smile and does that thing he does with his eyebrows.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

I prepared myself with some chocolate before watching it.. I knew something might happen... and it happened... I wanted more and more! :)
Hm... interesting movie but not very good... damn, Johnny Depp looks like Michael Jackson indeed

I totally disagree with you here

I watched this the other night and thought it was brilliant
Johnny Depps acting was second to none
Tim Burton has done a great job with this movie :D

Johnny Depp was great as usual from the acting point of view... but I did not like the movie so much as I expected to... that's all!

Batman Begins. Last night. A bucket of cack. I only watched it because it had Mr Cheekbones in it. Now I want those 134 minutes of my life back, so I can spend them doing something more worthwhile. Like sleeping.

Sideways. I watched half of it one night and was going to give it up because I hated the self-centered, piggish guys. Then decided to give it a chance and it got a lot better. I thought it was good but didn't understand all the hype, and while Paul Giamatti has the knack for conveying what he's thinking with his eyes and facial expressions (unlike many "actors" I can name), I didn't think his preformance rated an Oscar. A nomination, yes, but not a win. However, I though Thomas Haden Church should have got Supporting Actor.

Would you care to elaborate on this? I thought it happened to be one of the best filmed of all the Batman films. And except for the couple of "cheesey" Hollywood scenes inserted to satisfy the mainstream audience, I think it was a great film.

Ok. I found Bale a let down after American Psycho - a brilliantly funny film. I was expecting more than just an fx-led piece of eye candy. Maybe American Psycho is the only good film Bale's done - I've not seen anything else he's been in, so maybe they are all fx-led nonsense like Batman Begins. And he just didn't click for me character-wise. It was like he was just posing about for a bit, showing off his cheekbones.
Finally, all the spiritual mumbo jumbo, along with the sword fighting and kung-fu fistycuffs out me right off.

I first saw Christian Bale in Empire of the Sun. He was only 12 years old and was fabulous! I had never seen someone so young carry a film the way he did. Great film. You should check it out.

Sin City. Thought it was a crock. I had such high expectations, based on reviews and us.imdb.com, but I actually fell asleep watching it.

so true

The hidden blade – set against the backdrop of westernisation of Japanese military forces focusing on a maids’ relationship with a samurai. I’ll admit I’m a sucka for samurai movies that are about the social system and so on, I find fight scenes longer than 2 minutes to be tedious, i utterly enjoyed this movie from the romance plot to the acting <3

Where the truth lies – enjoyable but something was lacking, while I cannot place what it was I’d hazard a guess at lazy direction. The acting was superb and it was an enjoyable movie with plot twists, I fail to see why Kevin bacons ass has to be in every movie we know it’s a great ass ok? The movie reminded me of a law and order I saw the night before but only in the timing of twists. I HATE law and order, you nip out for a drink and within 2 minutes they have a twist leaving you going ‘wtf’ i invested 40mins of my time only to be left bewildered with the episodes end

The Churchill years – t’was allot of promo for a release at the movies which never materalised. The idea that Churchill as a us marine along with the decent british comedy cast made this seem as if it would be good. It was painfully unfunny dreadful,it had about 3 decent jokes, a waste for such a novel idea

Lolita 97 – how old was she in this movie,I fear I’m going to hell

The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. I thought it was pretty good, although it did get boring in parts. I really want to re-read the book now.

Lolita 1997

Since actress Dominique Swain was only 15 at the time of filming, a pillow had to be placed between her and Jeremy Irons' lap during all their scenes together... As Dominique Swain was under age 18 when the movie was filmed, an adult body double had to be used for some of the sex scenes.
