Is it me, or do those guys just rock? I have to admit that I bought their new album and I'm very impressed. I bought their smash hit from '95(Dookie or something like that) and after that, I guessed they produced a bad string of recordings. Any big fans of theirs?

Yes, I love this band. They DO rock

However, I have to say that I'm not too impressed with their newest album. I like some of the tracks, but they are never as good as their older stuff. There are some tracks that I am just bleh about and others that I hate so much I can't even bring myself to listen to them.

I would rather just listen to The Clash than a band whose fanbase carries an average age of about 8. ;)

And heres me thinking i was 36!

This band rocks :D

I like Greenday but their new album and image is just eh. I don't find it to be sincere and the songs on the new album just seem bland. I like bits and pieces of their old stuff, that nimrod album was just damn catchy

I do like that they have a few songs that are politically oriented. Early on, they didnt' have songs like that and they were busy acting like 23 year olds, lighting one anothers farts and joking around. Now it apears that they have grown up, but still have that young raw talent thing going on. In a perfect world, rage against the machine will get back together.

I've never cared too much about them. I kinda don't like music with political or other moral messages, don't really care about musician's political stances. Music should be about feelings and emotions, in my opinion, not about judging what is right or wrong. I did like their earlier stuff a lot more.

Because your politics don't reflect your outlook on certain things, determining your feelings.

I <3 ratm but as far as their political message went i found it to be i guess ineffective as far as influence on their fans are concerned(idiotic socialist wannabes with little understanding of what they preach and not able to appreciate other ideas but good intentions all the same) and then the whole political aspect in their lyrics just never sat well as fully explaining itself. Give me the manic street preachers or mccarthy anyday :D

I do miss rage in general and especially when considered against todays backdrop. I never got to see them live <\3

Yep, as I've never appreciated Audioslave.

I think it's an interesting combination. I absolutely loved Soundgarden and thought badmotofinger was an awesome album. You can definitely tell the "soundgarden" part of an Audioslave song, and you can definitely find the RATM influence as well. Now if only Van Halen can get their act together.

I've always loved RATM's instrumentals....oh, so much... mmm
I never really got used to Greenday's whiny lead singer. I hate those punk vocals, but I do enjoy their old stuff and their more melodious newer stuff.

Anyone like Chevelle?

In my opinion, politics takes advantage of feelings of a group of people to achieve an individual goal. When it comes to politics, it's better to think, not be guided by a feelings by which politicians or musicians can lead you. Politics is a very dirty business and I don't want it mixed up with my beautiful music.

I don't expect every song to have a political theme, but I think music is in a truly sad state when "fight the power" is replaced by "my humps"

I heard that for the first time at the weekend. It is terrible. The only good thing I can see coming out of that is girls in nightclubs sticking their asses out. :p

I take it you haven't seen the music video. I don't make a habit of watching MTV, but came across this while flicking channels one morning. It was like a train wreck...so horrible you can't stop watching.

Instructions for listening to the latest Greenday cd:

1.Place cd in player.

2.Remove brain.

3.Press play.

4.Enjoy.

This bunch would be soooo much better if they'd quit all the political posturing and just stick to the tunes - it makes them look like a gang of 15 year-olds who've just 'found' politics.

I only like a few songs by greenday.I like boulivard of broken dreams , holiday, american idiot and wake me up when september ends.:p

Im a fan of Green Day, but I think their music have become to commercial.
Attended a Green Day consert in July this year (2005). They rocked the house.
