Greetings from Florida

Hi everybody, my 'name' is Duvodas and I'm writing from Florida but I'm Cuban. I just found and joined this book forum two days ago. I'm so glad that I found this forum and glad also of being among readers of all genres and nacionalities, I hope I'd be able to make some friends from different parts of the world in here so that we can share our ideas and point of views about a given topic, book, or author.
I generally read historical fiction, authors like Conn Iggulden, Steven Pressfield, M. Curtis Ford, M. Massimo Manfredy, Nicholas Nicastro, and others are among my most read. Now I'm kind of getting into fantasy with the help of David Gemmell's books, but still it is not of my likeness at all.
The reason by which I am here is because I'm in debt with the books; a year and a half ago I was a boy who had just come from a foreing country, I didn't know English, though I had had a taste of it, eventually, I started reading books in English, easy ones, and litle by litle I learned the idiom, the books helped me to learn all the English all know, and in most of the cases, to correctly use my grammar.
To all who welcome or will welcome me to this forum, thanks in advance.

Welcome, Duvodas! Your English is impressive! Are you saying that you taught yourself by reading books in English? :)

Wow!

Wow!

That's absolutely correct, though you forgot to mention the bilingual dictionary, without it, I wouldn't had been able to accomplish it.

Hi, Welcome to TBF. Very impressive accomplishment. Your grammar is better than some native speakers in the US and UK that I know. :D

Hi and Welcome to TBF! I agree, your English is pretty good. I bet you'll like our One Liners thread, with all our crazy idioms and puns.

Hi Duvodas! Welcome to TBF!! :D :D

Your English certainly is very impressive, especially since you've practically taught yourself, and not for too long! I love the different nationalities here too, it makes this forum what it is. I'm sure you will love it here!!
