Question Game

How about "God, what was I thinking during those good old times?"

Sunny day on the beach or a rainy day in front of a fire place?

My favorite story? Oh, I like the one about the first time I tried to ski. I posted it in my blog actually, here it is:

When I was in high school my friends and I took a trip up to Galena, IL, to ski on the "mountains" they have there. This was my first time ever on skis, and since I am notoriously klutzy I had my doubts about the trip from the beginning. However, to my surprise, I took one lesson and ended up conquering the bunny hill with relative ease. Feeling a bit more confident than I should have, I let my friends talk me into trying out the REAL hill, which was much, much steeper than the bunny hill and a lot longer. One of them, let's call her Kim, told me very seriously, "If you scream, you sit." I nodded as if I knew what she was talking about and started down the hill.

Immediately I knew that this had been a bad idea. I gained momentum very quickly on the slippery slope and soon I was wildly, uncontrollably zooming down the hill at about 40 mph, screaming my head off, and too petrified to sit (though how one is supposed to accomplish that on skis is beyond me). About halfway down the hill, I saw a snowboarder directly in my path, and before I had time to try and avoid him we collided, sending us both flying through the air. I kept right on screaming until I hit the ground, which knocked the wind out of my lungs. The snowboarder picked himself up almost right away and went on his merry way, but I lay there in the snow like a dying fish. Kim's dad skiied up to me and asked if I was ok, and I shook my head no, still trying to breathe. They called an emergency worker on a snowmobile, who felt my ribs, said I was fine, and that he had a REAL emergency to go to.

I walked down the rest of that hill in my ski boots, carrying the skis. And that was my skiing adventure.

What is one thing you made that you're really proud of?

Well, I'm Editor-in-Chief of my college newspaper, and every time we (mostly I) put out a good issue, I am really proud of myself. :)

Favorite 'ethnic' food?;)

Vietnamese - my boss takes me out to Vietnamese restaurants for lunch every now and then, and it's delicious :D

Are you left or right handed?

Are you left or right-handed?

I am righthanded, like most people I know.
If you had to choose between having froglegs instead of human legs or having no legs at all, what would you choose?

Froglegs would be awesome!! Kind of hard to fit into a pair of nylons though...

Who is the most repulsive famous person you know and why?

Carrot Top, because everything about him is ugly and obnoxious, he has no redeeming qualities.

If you could have any famous person's hair/hairstyle, whose would it be?

Sinead O'Connor (at least I wouldn't have to spend hours drying it every day!)

If you could turn back the clock, what would you do for a living?

Oh, I did that, I quit my mortgage job that I'd been doing for 10 years and I'm taking some classes here and there and working with grade schoolers doing arts and crafts now. Not as much money but much more fun.

Have you ever left or found anything really odd or funny in a book?

Actually, it's where you live MC! New Zealand would be wonderful. Or the east coast of Canada. Or Scotland. Or Ireland. Anywhere but here, basically, but preferably NZ.

Are you a patriot?

I love my country, but I wouldn't call myself a patriot. I enjoy having a laugh at ourselves.

When you cook would you describe yourself as a Jamie Oliver type, all leaping round and energetic or more laid-back like Nigella Lawson?

Good question, Lucien!

If your life was a movie, which one would it be?

Excellent answer, Poppy!

I love my country, but I wouldn't call myself a patriot. I enjoy having a laugh at ourselves.
