Mapping your favourite authors

It managed to link Chuck Palahniuk with Dan Brown. No I do not agree with the geographic proximity of that!

Some of them are close, it's also a good way of finding new authors to look up. Nice link Kook :D

Wow, what a great site.
Maped up some of my favourite authors and found a few in the same gate that I've been thinking of reading. This site shows that I might really like these authors since the matched with my favourite ones.

Cool tool kook! I entered Sharyn McCrumb.. and found other authors I knew and loved, and a bunch I don't know yet. I'll have to save this one.

Thanks for the link. I tried it with a few of my favorite authors, and a lot of my favorites were well grouped together. There were a few I haven't tried though, so that should keep me busy for a while.

It looks like a very helpful site. Thanks!

It's quite fun to see if any of your favourite authors link up (which many of mine do). Although when I searched for Garth Nix one of his closest names was Gath Nix, which I'm assuming is just a spelling error. :p A lot of the searches have given quite accurate results so far. I'll definately be giving this another try soon. Thanks!

Unless there are authors named Laura K. Hamilton and Janet Evanovih that I have yet to discover, the owners of this site should do a better job looking out for typos. The site actually does a decent job of matching up similar authors, though I fail to see the similarities between Poppy Z. Brite and Terry McMillan (sharing the same gender doesn't count).

Fascinating gadget, and not bad at all!
Ten other authors whom I have read at least some of are clustered around Vladimir Nabokov. Now the challenge is to see what I think of Milan Kundera, one of the nearest unread authors. :( /slight groan/
Many thanks, :)
Peder

Hmm... an author they recommend if I liked Alice Sebold is Anonymous. And also Destojevski (which even I know is a spelling error).

Other than the spelling errors one thing that can be annoying is that if you leave it for a while everything drifts further and further til they overlap..

Hunh?! Say whut?
I got hypnotised and just snapped out of it!
It's better than roulette or the horses.

It's reeeally slow for me.

Interesting, though. I saw the same kind of thing with music.

Dostoyevsky (reading Crime and Punishment now) is near authors I have read or want to read.
