Favorite new authors

I just recently found Kim Harrison and I am really enjoying her books, it's like Laurell K Hamilton but not as terrible as the last three books.

Another is Jennifer Crusie. I finished "Bet Me" quickly and laughed quite a bit of the way through it.

Just as well it was ineligible for the Pulitzer. ;)
 
Some of the newer authors I'm enjoying.
Michael Cunningham (I think he just slips under the last 10 years criterion)
Dave Eggers - both his fiction and his memoir
Chuck Palahniuk - at least his earlier stuff
Yann Martel

I'm guessing they're both vampire writers?
