What is your favorite guilty pleasure?

These are some of the inexpensive wines for "everyday" drinking that I enjoy.

Columbia Crest Grande Estate Merlot -U.S.
Columbia Crest Shiraz - U.S.
Kendall Jackson Merlot - U.S.
Marques de Caceres Rioja - Spain
Alamos Malbec Mendoza - Argentina
Los Vascos Cabernet Sauvignon- Chile
Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Villages Flower Label - France

Recently I finished my last bottle of a 1982 Chateau Branaire-Ducru Bourdeaux. I at one time had a case of 1982 Branaire-Ducru and a case of 1982 Chateau Bon-Pasteur Bourdeau. The Bon Pasteur goes for anywhere from $450 a bottle to $750 a bottle if it can be found nowadays. I bought both as wine futures when they were still in the cask at about $10 or $12 a bottle. Sadly I have none left.
 
All right, fess up. What is that book hidden under your bed? What is that tv show you watch when no one is around? What is the film you walk into with sunglasses on? What are the books, shows and movies that you are hesitant to admit to liking?
 
I don't know if it's considered a guilty pleasure, but I like Loren D. Estleman's Amos Walker series. Not the usual stuff I read, but a nice break from it.

As for TV shows, I actually search out and watch "The Nanny". :eek:
 
Picked up a new white which I am enjoying today. Nora 2003, from Spain. Sort of citrus, and vanilla. Very, very good.
 
A few:

* Cheesy old movies (we're talking bad movies. KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park for example.).
* Fake cheese products (KD, Cheetos...that kinda thing).
* Useless cookie-cutter romance novels - it's nice to have the "escape" sometimes :eek:.
* All things 80's.
 
How about aerosol cheese, and individullay wrapped cheese food product? And what's witht that blinding orange color?:p
 
Heh, can't say I've tried spray cheese. I mostly stick to Yellow Death (KD) and cheesies. I can't, for the life of me, stomach Goldfish crackers, or cheese flavoured Ritz crackers, so I truly do not know how to explain it ;). The blinding orange colour, though, I don't get. But, then, some cheddar cheeses are painfully orange, too. >.< *Shrugs.* Just another of life's great mysteries, eh? ;) :D

Sorry, I don't visit the General Chat forum.

And I was aiming specifically at guilty pleasures in fiction. I'm not so interested in how much ice cream or margaritas or manicures people indulge in.

In terms of books I guess my real guilty pleasure is actually buying books. I know I have around 50 unread on my shelves, but I can't resist a bargain book, especially one I want to read. :eek:

That would be one of mine too, I sneak books in the house like some of my friends do shoes and clothes.
 
I don't know if I feel guilty about this exactly, but...

Jennifer Crusie's books Welcome to Temptation, Bet Me, and Crazy for You. They are such fun popcorn reads and the only romance novels I've ever read that keep the cheesy factor to a minimum. I guess I don't talk about them as much because romance as a genre is generally looked down upon.
 
The Notebook. Girly story I love it. It's uber awesome! I also buy more books than I need at a time. In this last week it was 14. I'm halfway through number one...

I will check it out. Is it a dry wine. Can you give a little more info on the wine. Is it the Bodegas Nora Albarino.
 
When it comes to fiction, I suppose romance novels would be one of mine. As much as I rag on them there's still a small part of me deep down that still likes it.
