I believe that I read the suspense/thriller/horror book some time in 1992 - 1997. It was a paperback book.

Read it so long ago, that I totally forgot the author name and title of the book. It is about a woman that has many friends & people dying around her in mysterious ways. Like someone non-human/animal had killed them. She meets this guy and falls in love with him. They end up in a sexual, but meaningful and steady relationship. The guy is actually a good person. He ends up turning to be the person/thing committing all of the murders. He knows that he does the murders, but because of his non-human ways, will not turn himself in. The only quote that I can remember from the book is learning about the origin of saying "Bless You" when someone sneezes. The reason why people say Bless You when you sneeze is because the devil is either trying to get inside of you. Oh well, any help would be greatly appreciated. The guy in the book may have been Irish. It was very suspensful at the end. I believe that there were many clues that the woman did not notice until she killed the creature in the end. I believe the book was along the lines of superstitions. "Superstition" may be in the title or a synonm very close to the word. Please help!
