anybody saw the movie 'The corsars of carib sea 2' (I don't know the right title) what ones can to say about its? Its more better then the first part?

I'm going to take a stab at this... Do you mean Pirates of the Caribbean 2? I think the word you were looking for was corsairs, not corsars. ;)

Well, I think #1 was better, as it was a movie in and of itself - set apart - and not dependent on another movie to finish the plot.

I also thought the violence and gore was over the top for #2 and was unnecessary in many parts, especially in that it is supposed to be a "family" film.

I was a bit disappointed, although at first viewing I really didn't like it and upon watching it again with my oldest DD I liked it better. I do like parts of it and do look forward to #3 to see how it all wraps up.

It was a big dragged out just to make sure that they could make the story into two movies IMHO.

Hence the PG-13 rating :).

I do agree that the movie felt overlong. I enjoyed it, but I didn't think a 150-minute running time was needed for this particular movie.

Yeah, of course I mean 'Pirates of the Caribbean 2', I remember that one game named Corsairs

The name mix up reminds me of an excellent book that I have by a museum curator. In it, the author pointed out that buccaneers was a term for pirates operating around the west indies; corsairs was the term used for pirates in the mediterranean region, especially those of the barbary states. He also did an excellent job of highlighting inaccuracies about pirates in film and book.

This movie has a tentacle fetish going on, wouldn't you agree? Loved it though even if it did seem a little drawn out. I did like the ending scene.

Did anyone actually stay after the credits to see the epilogue?

Epilogue?? Damn, I missed that... What was in it?
I totally agree about the tentacle fetish, and also a strange fascination for rolling people about in circular contraptions... But there was a bit too much Will Turner and a bit too little Captain Jack!

i think they dragged it out so they could make one story into two movies. otherwise, i think it would have been quite good to just make one movie about the story and leave it at that.

i stayed (SPOILER)

But was hoping to see depp (and for the person who asked - ANOTHER SPOILER SO SCROLL DOWN AGAIN)

they went back to the cannibals and they were worshipping the dog who had a large human bone in his mouth.

no, i didn't know, but someone was kind enough to PM me and let me know how to turn them on and off.

although, did you know that even with your spoiler tags, if you are subscribed to the thread, that the entire text shows up in email?

I missed it. I didn't know there was one. Not that I would have stayed; by the time the closing credits came up, I was out of my seat and heading toward the exit.

I was lookin for Keith Richards the whole time, and at the end, when the "guy" (I won't spoil) walks down the steps in the chick's hut, I was sure it would be him. Felt random, who it turned out to be, but compelling nonetheless...

First movie was way better, largely because it is a cohesive whole. But I loved Norrington in the 2nd one. The relationships between the main 3 characters got a little askew, and not in a way I could follow, and I'm usually pretty good at following those things. That was sort of a disappointment. And I didn't like the whole sea-creatures motif for Davey Jones's crew (and Davey Jones for that matter - although the actor playing Jones is great). But I admit it may grow on me, like the walking dead did in the 1st one.

Overall, right now, I like the 1st movie a lot better, but as a trilogy I'm sure the 2nd and the (eventual) 3rd movie will be dear to my heart, ultimately.

They just better get Keith Richards in there.

KEITH RICHARD'S SPOILER and a side note spoiler about who comes down the stairs at the end:

keith richard's is supposed to make an an appearance in #3 as depp's long-lost father. at last word, he had agreed to do it and they were working out the logistics as to when they could get him in for the shoot. as a side note, however, i loved seeing barbosa!

By the way: Pirates of the Caribbean 2 are yet in german cinemas ;) The film started for few days.

I absolutely loved Pirates 2. It wasn't quite as good as the first one, but I think this movie is kind of linking the first and third movies together and the third will be completely awesome.

It was a great movie though. Jack Sparrow was hilarious, as always. He always manages to put me in a bright mood. The ending will probably make you mad, though. That's all the more I'm saying.

I'm going to watch PotC #1 for the first time tonight, and that's the truth.

Do you think I'll be the last person on the planet earth be watching this movie for the first time?

I went and saw the movie tonight and I was really disappointed :( . It seemed to me like the movie drug on forever. I was looking at my watch after an hour and a half and cringing because there was another hour yet to go. I found myself wishing it would just be over. But, my opinion may have been influenced by the fact that the theater was really hot...

I also stayed for the epilogue because I had heard it was something you had to see... It was cute, but seriously, was it worth waiting through all the credits for?

I did enjoy Tia Dalma - the lady in the swamp, and Johnny Depp was fun, as always, though I don't feel we really saw enough of him.

Maybe I will have to see it again. I know a lot of people loved it and maybe it just wasn't what I had expected it to be.

i liked it better the second time i saw it, as i was prepared for how it was laid out. it does drag. it is like they dragged as much, milked as much of it as they could, so they could justify making another half of one film into two separate films. i think three will be much better! and i want more depp!
