Hey there! Obciously im new! Im so glad I found this place as I thought no forums for book discussions existed, silly me! I was gonna start my own but now I dont have to bother! Im reading war and peace at the mo and just have no one to discuss the horrific turn of events with so im glad that I found you. I just have a few questions if thats alright?
Does this place have a real community based feel to it? and is it alright if my spelling is atrocious (probably spelt wrong!)

Right well hope to hear from you all soon.

Yes, community or more like family in that there's lots of fighting and making up going on all the time. :) If you want to discuss War and Peace try searching the title I'm sure there is at least one thread dedicated to it. Welcome and enjoy!

Welcome!

I haven't gotten around to War and Peace myself. Well, I started it once and made it a couple of pages and got busy with something else and haven't started it again. I figure I will one day, though. As our resident vet mentioned, there is likely to be a thread, so do a search and jump into the conversation, or you can start a new one if you notice it is an old thread or maybe unrelated to your questions or comments.

I haven't been here long, but was able to easily jump in and feel comfortable. It is nice here so far.

Are you so sure about that SFG75?

Welcome to the forum. As you can tell I haven't been here too long either, but you'll fit in wonderfully.

Hello Miss_Tolstoy! Welcome to the forum. :)

We do have a weekly spelling test that everyone must pass in order to remain a member, but don't worry, new members get a three-month reprieve. ;) Happy posting! :)

Thanks everyone. I've done a bit of exploring so far and I think im getting used to it! Or the general gist anyway. Anyhow seems a good forum so far :)

Stewart, be nice ;) (kidding)
Welcome Tolstoy. I don't mind if you can't spell, as long as you try and dnt use txt spk I'm ok with it!! I think you'll find though that if you spend enough times on the boards you're spelling will gradually start to improve itself.

Excellent just what it needs!

Thought I'd come back to this 'thread', as you call them, to ask some more questions that have been puzzeling me about the forum.

What I wanted to know was how do I un-subscribe to threads?

Also just wanted to say how much I have been enjoying this board and how darn useful it is!:D

In your User CP listed under Settings & Options click on Edit Options, scroll down to Messaging & Notification, find the Default Thread Subscription Mode setting, click on the drop-down menu and select Do Not Subscribe, Click button near the bottom of the page Save Changes.

Nice to know that you enjoy it here, and it is useful. Usually. ;)

Hey, just a suggestion, but both of my (free) E-mail accounts have a spell checker on the "compose new message" function. That's the one thing that I miss the most about Windows XP Home Edition is the spell checker.
