Firefly/Serenity

Hiya,

I was wondering who else caught this series on TV/DVD and is waiting with great excitement to the film 'Serenity' coming out later this year?

If you did watch it, what did you think? Favourite character? Favourite episode(s)?

Personally, I adored this and cannot for the life of me see why it was pulled when it is clearly superior to a lot of the series being put out by US channels. I have high hopes for the film, since it is supposed to take up pretty much where the series left off.

I absolutely adore Malcolm Reynolds, the 'petty thief' with too much heart and honour for the job he is doing. Plus, seeing him nekkid in the episode 'Trash' was almost too much for me

I'd love to hear other people's thoughts?

finally, a kindred soul. i loved this show. when it was pulled i vowed to stop watching tv, i shook my fist at tv producers. everything about this show was great. i loved mal too, he was the perfect mix of gruff, cranky, bad boy threatened only by his good heart. i loved jane too though, my god he was funny.

so there is film? as in big screen you say?


ok i just watched the trailer and my whole day has just been made. thank you thank you thank you for bringing this up.

oh and my fav episode was out of gas. i loved the contrast of the flashbacks to the current day.

Out of Gas was great too, although when I saw the opening scenes I was so confused and upset!!

I also really loved the episode that introduced Saffron - very, very funny.

Apparently the movie is going to expand on the tentative relationship between Mal and Inara, which is fantastic because I couldn't bear the way it was left in the series!

I've been lending out my DVD set to almost everyone I know in an effort to get them to watch it, so I can discuss it with someone.

Despite my enduring love for both Buffy and Angel, I actually think that Firefly was Joss Whedon's best work.

Firefly rocked. I caught some of the episodes when I lived in the US and was shocked to discover it had been cancelled. I have it on DVD now. My favourite episode has to be Jaynestown and my favourite character is probably Wash.

Serenity gets released here in early October. Doubleshiny!

Both Serenity and Firefly were brilliant.

Out of Gas and Ariel were my favourite episodes, though I enjoyed all of them a lot (though Heart of Gold was definitely the weakest).

My husband and I are huge fans too. We bought both the movie and the series on DVD and I'm ready to watch them AGAIN
