i see what you are saying. it is a sad thought. i am still not over sirius' death and i totally think dumbledore is alive (i have many theories on this, and some of them, if i do say so myself, are very plausible ;) )

i too have a few therories on both of those...

i am guessing (maybe its hope out of desperation) that sirius will come back in the 7th for a short time (maybe come back spiritually to help with some seemingly impossible task) because his death was not exactly direct. when he fell behind the curtain you were left with everyone elses' word that he had died and not actual proof. as for dumbledore...he is much to wise and powerful to have not left something behind...even if he himself doesnt make an appearance.

sorry for any typos...sadly there is no excuse haha.

well, JKR has hinted that the mirror will make an appearance again, so i wonder if he had it on him when he went behind the veil and will eventually be able to make some sort of connection with harry through it.

and, spikeyli, i TOTALLY know what you are saying about the mirror and harry not using it! every time i re-read the book i think it through the whole thing - pick up the dang mirror (like the book will magically change lol)

but it served a major purpose. the mistakes we make in our past and today sometimes were paving the way to a greater good in the end, and i think that is what happened, although i hated that he died. his death has always been the hardest for me. but voldemort got ousted and i believe removed the part of himself that he left in harry when he possessed him in the MOM so that dumbledore would kill harry. right after that harry no longer felt that connection with voldemort that he did before. so, i believe if harry was an unintentional horcrux, voldemort severed that connection then and removed that part of himself (even if it wasn't a horcrux). his scar doesn't even hurt anymore. also, voldemort, the order, harry, and especially sirius (as they then recognized that he was telling the truth) etc. were all vindicated and the whole of the magical community had to recognize they were telling the truth and to get off their butts and do something about the dang problem!

Say what you will about the author, but no one has written books or created characters like JKR did with Harry, so you got to give her that. My only problem with her is her earlier Harry books are much better written and thought out. These days, it seems like she writes them to appease the audience and increase book sale. Also I wish she would just shut up about who she's going to kill in the new book already. Either tell us who it is or shut the hell up. I hate these apparent marketing schemes, people are either going to read your book or they won't.

I have apparently been outside the harry potter loop. Harry potter can't die...I'd be devastated. It is too cruel to kill the main character in a "children's" book. It's like when I got to the end of the Age of Innocence, and the guy just sits on the bench and then walks away. It was the most miserable ending. I am so pathetic, and will become even more so if Harry should die. Besides, when I was at school at Cambridge a few years ago, I was walking past St. Cath's and saw a 20 year old spitting image of Harry Potter. If that's not proof Harry is destined to live, then I'll eat my library card.

hey everyone,
im new here so just wanted to say hi first. im a huge Harry Potter fan and i dont believe that Harry is a horcrux. Dumbledore knows that the prophecy says Voldermort and harry will fight and eventually one will kill the other. but to kill voldemort you first have to destroy his remaining horcruxes. so if harry is one then how is he going to destroy himself and kill voldemort. think of it this way because it all just doesnt add up. oh and something completely off topic. i read somewhere that in the funal book theres something about how harry has his mothers eyes thats going to be really big. and when you think about it someone mentions how harry has his mothers eyes in every book. any have any ideas? ttyl

What I think is that Percy is a ass for siding with the ministry and Umbridge. And when he finaly realized he was wrong he didnt come back to his family and apologize. Why? I think that Percy has always been a outcast in his family and didnt fit in with them. And the twins certainly didnt help the matter at all. So Percy always wants to be right because hes the smart one and wants to be appreciated, so its hard for him to admitt he was wrong. but he was!

Book Seven - Facts! *Spoilers*

  • The last chapter was written back in 1999; it dealt with "what happens to the survivors afterward"; the last word is scar; this chapter will still be tweaked
  • The book will contain a lot of the back story of the Potters
  • Aunt Petunia has never performed magic, and never will, but there's more to her than meets the eye; the letter left with Harry on the doorstep was not the first one Dumbledore sent Petunia
  • The Sorting Hat is not a horcrux, but there's more to it than what we've read in the first books
  • "Ravenclaw will have their day"
  • No book character has returned from the future
  • There is significance to the fact that Harry has his mother's eyes
  • Book 7 will be released on 07/07/07
  • There is a frighteningly large universe of Harry Potter fan sites which, among other things, collect and analyze interviews with JK Rowling

Where is the 'fact' displayed that Book 7 is being released on 7.7.07? Nothing I've seen on Mugglenet or Leaky Cauldron or from HPANA suggests this or even claims it as fact.

I thought that Harry having his mother's eyes already served its purpose with Professor Slughorn. Harry having the same qualities as his mother, was therefore able to use Slughorn's liking of his mother to extract the memory from Slughorn.

The Sign Is Off! The Sign Is Off! The Sign Is Off!

The sign is off on the jkrowling site (if you know what i mean and how to get there). Anyways, I've been trying to figure out what to do and have been able to turn things on, flip things over, open books, etc., but haven't made much progress yet. I hope I'm not up too late for nothing!

You can get to the second level of the WOMBAT exams.

Light the candle, dip the pen in the ink. Close the open exam paper; pick up the clover leaf which will turn into a key; put the key in the drawer and it will open to reveal an exam paper. Click on the brown circular thing (a Time-Turner viewed from above), and take the exam. Hang on to your code once you've finished. Sometime soon on the website you will be given something to paste it into and you get your WOMBAT GRade 2 qualification.

Nope definately not an official release date. It would be cool though if it did come out on that date, I guess it all depends on when she finishes writing it, although then it'll take another 4-6 months maybe for editing, printing etc

Teadude, can you tell us where you got this information from? I think some people are doubting your post and we're curious as to whether or not this is verifiable.

J.K.Rowling has puted out a internetgame on her website. If you solve the game you will figure out the title of book 7.

The title of Book 7: «Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows».

Oo cool. Sounds interesting. JK Rowling is so cruel with the end of the books...but I guess one woman can only write so much.

I asked at borders and they told me the book's coming out july 7. i preordered it alrady. they loolked at me like i was crazy. I had to patiently explained that i'm obsessed with harry potter.
