Has anyone ever read this? If you haven't, I suggest you go out and purchase it, right now.

It will take King another round of coke snorting and gobbling painkiller to achieve this greatness or even be at this level.

i havnt read this yet but ive read quite a few of mcammons others and am really looking forward to reading this, ive heard its one of his best, just read mine, and gone south and really liked them so looking forward to Boys life

I've read McCammon a long time ago, and remember liking his work very much. He's a horror writer, and quite an accomplished one at that, if you read his accomplishments and achievements.

Nothing approaching the marketing machine that is King, but not too bad.

I did some snooping, and found his website here. Not only that, I also found the very story that I read, Nightcrawler, which one of the stories in the horror anthology Masques, which intro-ed me to a lot of other writers in the horror genre. Ironically, it was also in this collection that King did a story called Popsy, which made me realize that King, in spite of all the negativity surrounding him, really can write damn well.

Back to McCammon - his website also has a lot of stories that is available for free, so do go and check him out if you've not sampled his work.

So, eyes, I believe you when you say Boy's Life is worth reading. :)

NOONE HAS READ THIS??

WTF!!!!!

How can anyone not read this?

This is the highest rated book on Amazon--there is not a single one 3 stars or below. All of them are five stars. This is the highest rated book in the horror genre from Amazon. I beseech thee to at least read the *********** reviews! :)

i read this book a few months ago and i must say it was pretty damned good. ive read a handfull of mccammons books by now and this may be his best of what ive read, many times i found myself smiling as i read it, remembering how it was to be a kid. i doubt im giving anything away saying this but the way he tells alot of the story is threw a childs eye, and its pretty magical, for lack of a better word. if your finishing up a book or trying to decide on what to read next, grab this and read it, it will only take you a nite or two once youve started. if you dont like it illl wire you a dime for your troubles

Boys Life by Robert Mccammon

I think this is a book everyone should read. Check out the synopsis and reviews on Amazon. It has a 5 star rating avg. Out of 243 reviews. Now if anyone takes my advice and reads this book I expect a pat on the back.

This poem is a preface to the book.

We ran like young wild furies,
where angels feared to tread.
The woods were dark and deep.
Before us demons fled.
We checked Coke bottle bottoms
to see how far was far.
Our worlds of magic wonder
were never reached by car.
We loved our dogs like brothers,
our bikes like rocket ships.
We were going to the stars,
to Mars we'd make round trips.
We swung on vines like Tarzan,
and flashed Zorro's keen blade.
We were James Bond in his Aston,
we were Hercules unchained.
We looked upon the future
and we saw a distant land,
where our folks were always ageless,
and time was shifting sand.
We filled up life with living,
with grins, scabbed knees, and noise.
In glass I see an older man,
but this book's for the boys.

Uh... no.

I expect it on mine. ;)

I've read and have all his books and most are pretty good. Its been a long time since I read Boy's Life so I can't really remember much of it but it is a good book. I like Swan Song, The Wolf's Hour(I'm a werewolf nut), and Stingers better. Mine is also a great book that I don't think he gets enough credit for.
